Description
Cool space with lots of nooks and crannies. 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 Bath, open floor plan, sleeps up to 9 people. The space Our family home, aka the "Big Hill House" was the first ever built by Richard Martin, a green designer/builder in the Berea area for more than 30 years who had a reputation for building high-quality energy efficient homes. The home features passive solar design with windows spanning the entire south side of the home with loads of natural light. The open floor plan includes two loft bedrooms that overlook the living and family rooms and is just loaded with nooks and crannies. If you are looking for a unique place to stay, with beautiful views, close to hiking and outdoor activities, and within a short drive to lots of central Kentucky destinations, this is it! Guest access Guests have access to the house and grounds. Outbuildings are off limits. Other things to note In case it's an issue, we want to make you aware that both the front and rear staircases are a bit on the steep side. Also, the rear staircase is far more narrow than average. All the regular beds are on the second floor, with the exception of the sleeper sofas. Also, the house has several different levels so it's less than ideal for anyone with any kind of accessibility issues. As noted in the house rules, no cats are allowed. No more than 2 well-behaved dogs are permitted, provided the owner is notified in advance (number of dogs should be reflected in reservation). Dogs must either be kept on a leash when outside or remain under the direct supervision of the owner. Dogs are not allowed on beds or furniture.
