Cheerful Room in Historic Woodberry
Come feel at home in Baltimore - for a visit, a job, graduate/medical student travels, or otherwise temporarily! You'll share my historic Woodberry rowhome with me and my kitties. Settle in with access to a well-equipped kitchen, on-site laundry, designated office, free and easy on-street parking, and space to store your personal bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom items. The bedroom is modestly-sized and cheerful. The main bathroom and office are located on either side of the bedroom. Guests share the space with me and my super low-key kitties; the cats (i.e. their fur!) are never allowed in the guestroom. :) The shared areas include 1.5 bathrooms, office, living room, open kitchen/dining room, and two screened-in porches at the front and rear of the house. Linens/towels, basic bathroom amenities (soap, body wash, shampoo/conditioner), and coffee/tea are provided. There is free and unrestricted street parking typically available within a block's walk of the house. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen for moderate cooking. The kitchen is well-stocked and cabinets labeled to make it easy for you to find basic items that are available for sharing. Storage space in the fridge/freezer and a Guest Food Cabinet are provided. Guests have access to an ironing board, iron, and starch on room-level. There is also a laundry room at the basement level, with clothes washer/dryer. Laundry service and/or guest use of laundry room subject to change; inquire ahead of time if interested. I am a professional tutor, freelance math writer, and sometimes gig-worker. My jobs keep me in and out of the house a bit inconsistently. A long-time Charm City resident, I am always happy to share information about the area whether in-person or otherwise! With my schedule, interactions are sometimes brief, but I enjoy chatting with my guests if/when we get the chance! :) The house is a classic little 2-story Baltimore City row home, but with much more privacy and greenspace than is typical. It is located directly across from wooded Druid Hill Park which houses the Baltimore Zoo, a top-notch disc golf course, numerous walking/biking trails, wildlife, and lovely scenery. The block is adjacent to Woodberry Park, a smaller dog-walking park. The neighborhood is quiet, friendly, residential. Hampden, a main hub for Baltimore-flavored shopping and nightlife, is the next neighborhood over, about a half-mile away. Easy access to expressway (I-83) leading south toward downtown/Inner Harbor, or north toward I-695, the Baltimore beltway. A 10 minute walk to the Woodberry lightrail stop or to Clipper Mill, an historic mill converted into artisan shops, studios, and dining. Access to several Baltimore bus lines within a two-block radius. Next to Hampden, a neighborhood on the shortlist of places to go for uniquely Baltimore shopping, dining, coffee shops, local music, and bars.
