The village is easily accessible on foot, making the farm a quiet and well-connected refuge for those who want to explore the beauty of Salento. The space Masseria delle Rose is a historic 18th-century residence located in the heart of Salento, in Puglia, between the cliffs of the Adriatic Sea and the golden beaches of the Ionian Sea, near Capo Santa Maria di Leuca. This farmhouse, protected by dry stone walls, offers a quiet refuge where guests can relax under the pomegranate trees, sunbathe on the water cistern, or immerse themselves in history by imagining the past lives that have animated the house. The origins of the Masseria date back to 1760, when it was enlarged by the village priest to become his country home. Subsequently, it passed through the hands of several families, until it was purchased by the great-grandparents of the current owner in the early 1900s. After being divided between the children upon the grandmother's death, the house was "recomposed" and carefully renovated to respect its history and original materials. Today, the Masseria delle Rose welcomes travelers eager to discover the soul of Salento and Puglia. It is not a luxury hotel, but a house open to those looking for an authentic experience. Guests can enjoy breakfast in the courtyard, which is filled with myrtle, strawberry trees, roses, bougainvillea, jasmine, and lemons, and explore the surrounding countryside with its centuries-old olive groves and red earth. The central location of the masseria allows you to choose between a swim in the Ionian Sea or the Adriatic Sea and to end the day strolling through the historic centers of Salento, among the baroque, the patron saint festivals, the pizzica, the illuminations and the aromas of Salento cuisine. This house, reborn thanks to the love and sacrifices of the family, is an invitation to experience its history and the beauty of the surrounding area. Guest access Each guest can use the courtyard, garden and terrace. During your stay Guests have full access to the upper part of the farm, where I live.
