There are 6 acres of gardens, wild jungle with a river and natural springs. We encourage you to relax, explore and discover some of Colombia's amazing natural diversity in the flowers, fruit trees and bird life that thrive here. The name, Ecolodge el Puente (formerly Refugio Puente de la Explanacion), was inspired by the graceful 4 arched stone bridge at the front of our property. It was once part of a railway line … the old train station is across from the soccer field and several tunnels near the Santa Rita waterfalls. The estate is family owned and operated by a Canadian, his Colombian wife and her family. It was purchased in 2016, extensively renovated and opened in 2017. Guest access We offer splashing in the river, sunbathing in private areas, great birdwatching, picnic spots, meditation and yoga, massage therapy, BBQs, campfires, and occasionally live music, traditional medicine and healing ceremonies! When you do explore the area there is lots to do... During your stay BREAKFAST - served from 7 to 10 outside reception - freshly brewed local coffee available at 7:00 GUEST KITCHEN            - located in the log house -  8 am to 9 pm DRINKING WATER - pure filtered water from one of our natural springs in all taps and showers.  LUGGAGE STORAGE - in reception before check in (2 pm) and after check out (11 am) PARKING - Free secure parking, locked gate at night with lighting and security camera. CLOTHES LINE - Covered drying lines behind log house, please feel free to use. FOAM MATS -  For yoga or sunbathing BBQ - Wood fired behind log house BONFIRE  - On request, weather permitting Other things to note We are happy to arrange any transportation you might require. If arriving by bus … no need to go to Salento first. Just get off at Boquia, the little village just before Salento. No problem with early check in, we have hammocks in front of the bridge while you wait and offer breakfast and luggage storage. The gates will be closed … but not locked when you arrive, smile for the camera and let yourself in! All tours can easily be arranged at breakfast.
