The space Ishimaru House is located in the beautiful area of Ishiuchi, Minamiuonuma, Niigata that transforms into a white wonderland in Winter. Located 6.8km and a 13 minute drive by car from Yuzawa Town and only a short 3 minute walk to Ishiuchi Maruyama Ski Resort Chuo Entrance which is one of the largest ski resorts in the area. 2018 2019 ski season welcomed an exciting new development for the ski resort with a new modern resort centre and the worlds most advanced 'combo lift' called Sunrise Express with a hybrid gondola and 6 person lift with heated bucket seating. Ishimaru House has a warm and welcoming feel which is suitable for small and large groups. There is a stunning timber feature wall in the kitchen, floating timber flooring on the first level and tatami flooring in the bedrooms. The traditional Japanese timber shoji (paper) screens mixed with the modern Japanese coloured doors throughout the house and modern lighting is a fusion of modern meets tradition. The house sleeps a maximum of 12 guests on futon bedding (traditionally Japanese mattresses on the floor). There is one bedroom downstairs and 3 bedrooms upstairs. Downstairs a brand new kitchen is fully equipped with an IH cooktop, exhaust fan, refrigerator, rice cooker, microwave, cooking utensils plus more to prepare easy meals which can be enjoyed at the generously sized timber dining table. The lounge room opposite the kitchen has a comfortable western lounge suite and armchairs to relax in while you enjoy the evenings relaxing and flicking through Netflix. The shower room, laundry (washing machine and dryer available for guests to use free of charge), toilet and washstand are all located on the first level. Located upstairs are three tatami bedrooms. Guests have the flexibility to have three individual bedrooms or a sliding door can be opened to create one large room and one normal sized room. The tatami bedroom downstairs adjoins the lounge area and is separated by sliding doors so if required guests can open the doors. Guests can walk to Harimayu supermarket in approximately 10 minutes for all grocery items and alcoholic beverages. There are several restaurants within walking distance from Ishimaru House such as the famous barbecue restaurant Yakiniku Ishidora which is right next door to the house and is a favourite with locals and guests staying in the Ishiuchi area. For a true local Japanese experience there is a small Japanese traditional style Izakaya bar called Okachan, Kiyoi specialises in sushi however they also offer Izakaya menu (Japanese style of tapas which is enjoyed with drinks). Guest access Guests have access to all areas of the house. Other things to note We would like to advise guests that there is only one toilet and one wash basin at Ishimaru House.
