The Piggery - rural retreat with eco hot tub

The Piggery is a beautifully converted property situated in rural Monmouthshire – a dark sky area, just outside the village of Skenfrith - providing an ideal location for a relaxing or active break at all times of the year with fabulous walks on the doorstep or within easy driving distance. The property has its own entrance and parking area with private south facing terraced garden. The fabulous Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons are a short drive away. The space A lovely spacious, high beamed, newly renovated retreat withopen plan living - fully equipped kitchen, coffee pod machine, microwave, fridge/(mini) freezer, cooker and hob. There is a sitting area with electric woodburner to chill by, smart TV (so you can log into your own Neflix, Prime etc accounts), books to read, games, cards and jigsaws to play. There is a table and chairs to eat/work on. The bedroom has a sumptious superking sized bed with luxurious 300 thread Egyptian cotton bed linen. The wow factor is the large walk shower in the wetroom with a great rainwater shower and complimentary Welsh toiletries and fluffy towels. All you would want for your perfect stay. A welcome hamper of local produce will also be waiting for you on arrival. Dogs are very welcome and a cot is available if required (please bring own linen for cot). On the terraced garden there is an eco wood-fired hot tub which is freshly filled with water for each guest (no chemicals). The wood burner is ready to light for you and there are ample logs provided. There is also a hammock, fire pit and Webber BBQ (charcoal provided) - all you need for chilling on a sunny afternoon or enjoying the night sky from the hot tub! The garden area opens out onto fields - perfect for an evening stroll. Guest access The Piggery is self-contained and all areas are accessible to guests. There is a private entrance with gravelled parking area. It has its own south facing private terraced garden with full sun for your morning breakfast or watch the sunset whilst sipping your sundowner with the fire pit lit under the stars. Other things to note Please note that there are no gates to either the country road or fields behind - dogs are best kept on leads or not left unattended. The village of Skenfrith has a dining pub (The Bell at Skenfrith) but within a short drive we have many other pubs offering great food, beer and drinks! There is a guest information folder for you to look through on your arrival which has lots of activity and pub suggestions. For essentials, there is St Weonards Post Office & Stores which is only 5 miles away – they stock most things – or if you prefer a supermarket there is Waitrose and Lidl in Monmouth (just 8 miles).
