The 1930s restored farmhouse is located on a choice acre of woodland property at the base of Laurel Mountain. A towering 2 story, stone fireplace adds ambiance to this comforting, peaceful retreat. Kitchen cabinets are topped with sleek zinc countertops and butcher block ……retro meets metro in this full kitchen. The downstairs bathroom with walk-in shower is spa-like with contemporary flourishes. Woodsy quiet will lull you to sleep on one of the two comfy queen beds upstairs with a convenient powder bath. Moonstone Manor--perfect for two couples wanting to share a weekend getaway or a small family retreat. WINTER: Nearby, ski resorts invite skiers, snowboarders, and tubing. Watch as the giant hemlocks turn into a winter wonderland or drive up Laurel Mountain to ski. FALL: Hunt on the property for wild edible mushrooms, or sit back and enjoy the mountain tree colors. Metal detecting on the roughly 100-year old farmhouse grounds is likely to give up its hidden treasures. SUMMER: Take a walk across the street and stick your feet into the mountain stream, maybe do some fly fishing. ANYTIME: Pick any of the three porches and decompress on the vintage wicker chairs, the cushioned lounge chairs or the Adirondacks reading a book and wait for the deer to visit. All our summer guests can stroll through the Garden Court, or picnic on the Park grounds a one minute walk away. Sophisticated yet relaxing, book Moonstone Manor now for any season of the year. Guest access The entire home and grounds are for our guests enjoyment, along with the deer and an occasional fox. Self check-in with lockbox code which will be sent after reservation is confirmed. Other things to note This is not a home for anyone physically impaired. There are two entries one that is a rock path (see pic) and the other under the arbor that is grassy and level so be aware. We provide some body products for our guests: Shampoo, shower gel and body moisturizer. Smart TV, high speed internet, basic cable, assorted board games, jigsaw puzzles and an eclectic selection of books are provided for some brain food. We do not provide laundry detergent for stays under a week. Please note this is a historic cottage that was restored and thus some of the more quaint and quirky surroundings have been kept.
