Lovely apartment in the heart of Edinburgh, very much the perfect base from which to explore by foot. 5 mins walk to the Pleasance, Summerhall, Arthur's Seat and the Meadows you will find your perfect location to enjoy. Whether you want to wine and dine, take in a show, see a film or maybe a hike around Arthur's Seat, everything is just a stone's throw away. The apartment is a compact retreat from the buzz of city life with double glazing, to ensure a good nights sleep. The space Newly decorated apartment, It's the perfect base from which to explore Edinburgh from. I've already had some great people come and stay, so I welcome you to my home. You will have the whole apartment to yourself for the entire stay. This is a sunny, light, high ceilinged flat on the second floor of an Edinburgh apartment in the Newington area with views of Arthur's Seat. The self catering aparment is fully equipped and has recently been decorated and sleeps UP TO 4 PEOPLE. The flat benefits from a comprehensively equipped kitchen, open plan, off the main sitting area. There is a bathroom with a bath and shower. With your stay at the flat, you will be welcomed by tea, coffee and fresh bed linen. Towels are provided and the apartment is very clean. The flat also benefits from: - TV with dvd player - Central heating - Microwave, fan oven, hobs, fridge, freezer, kettle, washing machine and dishwasher - hairdryer - drying clothes rack Check in is between 3pm and 7pm. If you are arriving earlier than this, Edinburgh bus station has lockers where you can store your luggage for only £10. Check out is at 10am. The Royal Mile and Pleasance are a short walk away from the apartment, and the National Gallery, St Giles Cathedral, National Museum of Scotland, Arthur's Seat and the Meadows are all close by. My apartment is on the second floor of a tenement with views of Arthur's Seat. With all mod cons and a unique location, this is the perfect apartment to have as a base while you explore Edinburgh. It is on the second floor and is reached by a spiral staircase. There is no elevator. There is a one bedroom with a double bed and a sofa bed in the kitchen/living area. There is a washing machine and there is washing liquid capsules for it under the sink, just put one of these inside the washing machine drum and close the door and turn to what ever setting you want. I do not have a dryer (it's not that typical here in Scotland/Europe) what I do have is a clothes rack which you can hang your clothes on. The kitchen is stocked with all the usual larder fare to help yourself to if you're cooking in. Plus coffee and all sorts of teas. Newington and the South Bridge Area Where's it? About 15 minutes from the Royal Mile: walk up the Bridges. Who's from there? Harry Potter, thank you. Despite claims by other establishments, we all know the boy wizard was created in Nicolson's, now Spoon, on Nicolson Street. And Inspector Rebus, although he lives in Marchmont, occasionally reports for work at the St Leonard's Police Station. We can't think of any real people off the top of our heads, although Walter Scott was known to be a fan of the area, as The Heart of Midlothian and cosy snug The Jeanie Dean's on St Leonard's Street will testify. Why would I go there? Because it's home to some of the best independent shops and bars in the city. The Pear Tree and the Moo Bar are legendary Embra pubs, the Blind Poet has great real alehosts excellent spoken word night Blind Poetics on the first Monday, Word Power is a wonderful radical book shop with its own annual Fringe to the Charlotte Square festival, Hot Head give great hairdressing, and the hungry of all budgets are catered to with the excellent likes of Blonde, the Mosque Kitchen and the aforementioned Spoon. Newington is easy to fall in love with. Vibrant and leafy, this residential area is a 10 minutes walk from Edinburgh Royal Mile. The Victorian architecture and the many independent restaurants and boutiques give Newington a charming and relaxing feel, without all the tourists piling down like in the city centre. This area starts directly beyond the Old Town (where the Royal Mile is) were attractions, bars and restaurants congregate. The Meadows are its beautiful "back garden" and the city centre is within easy walking distance. I hope to hear from you. This fantastic site is a great place for a small hike, and you will be rewarded with a breath-taking view! The Meadows - is a beautiful green space to relax, have a lovely pick-nick, play, go for a run or walk. There are many lovely cafes. Commonwealth Pool - is a great leisure & sport center, with a gym and many activities for the young ones. Summerhall - is a multi-arts complex and events venue. Is home of Edinburgh Science Festival, Edinburgh International Magic Festival and a Gin distillery. It is place of many art exhibitions and music shows, making it a great place to visit all-year-round. Newington is also secretly beautiful: the Meadows as the front garden, and Holyrood Park as back garden. You will enjoy the the high ceilings, the cobbled streets, and stunning old buildings. Newington also has every shop you’d ever need and an endless supply of restaurants and cute coffee shops to try. It even has Edinburgh Bargain Stores – the shop that has every item you ever need in it. Why be anywhere else? Guest access The whole apartment is for you and is not shared with anyone else. Other things to note Check out is at 10am. Check in is after 3pm.
