The space The home is a renovated & updated circa 1916 seaside cottage with fantastic views, and features elegant, modern decor sympathetic to the character of the house. Enjoy high ceilings, polished wooden floors, plush wool carpet, luxurious linens and ultra comfortable new beds, a stylish bathroom, central heating and all day sun. The CBD is only a short 10-15min drive and public transport is also close by. LOUNGE The living room has unobstructed views of Island Bay and across to the Pencarrow headlands. Relax and watch the Interislander ferries coming and going through the harbour entrance. If you are lucky you may even see dolphins in the bay. The sunny family room has a super large comfy sectional sofa, a dining table for 6 and large screen smart tv. There is also a large deck in the sunny backyard with picnic table and bbq. WORK If you have to work, why not enjoy some stellar views from the desk facing the ocean. REST The house has two large bedrooms with closets. The Master bedroom has views from the ultra comfortable King size bed or reading chair. Premium linens and plush fluffy towels are supplied. This is our escape as well so we spent some money on really good mattresses in both bedrooms. Bedroom 2 has two king single beds with premium linens - quite comfortable for an adult or two. COOK Self cater with a fully kitted out kitchen with all the major cooking utensils and tools and new homewares/crockery. The kitchen is stocked with coffee & tea and some other limited cooking essentials (salt/pepper, olive oil, tomato sauce etc). Please let us know your preference for milk or milk alternatives at the time of booking. BBQ Gas BBQ and picnic table on the large new deck in the sheltered, sunny backyard garden. CLEANSE The house features a full bathroom with a huge bath, a large shower w/premium soap provided, toilet, handbasin & heated towel rail. There is an additional toilet & handbasin off the kitchen & laundry. Our guests have use of the laundry with washer & dryer, and there is clothes line outside. PLAY There is a sunny fenced garden in the rear with a picnic table and the beach is across the street, and a large park with playground is almost next door. SNUGGLE Central radiator heating throughout. INTERNET Unlimited internet via Fibre high speed connection. SUITED TO This home is best suited for: a couple, a weekend couples getaway, professionals here for work, or a small family with 1-2 children aged 7+. This is a strictly NO SMOKING property. Three generations of my family have lived here and we hope you will love staying here as much as we do. Guest access Guests get the whole house, there is 1 cruiser style bike with basket in the garage (including helmet & bike lock) that guests are welcome to borrow during their stay. Great for popping up to the shops/supermarket or the Island Bay butcher to pick up some of the best sausages in Wellington. Other things to note A large screen internet enabled television is provided in the family room and guests can login to their own Netflix, Lightbox or Amazon Prime etc accounts to watch tv. note: local television broadcast via TVNZ app.
