AND there's free off-street parking! With the entire top floor of my house for your own private use, you can enjoy a hideaway in York with the personal touches of a local host. The space Once the servants' quarters (really!)... now a quirky self-contained pad with an industrial loft vibe. This newly-decorated space is effectively a studio flat accessed through the house, and has everything you need for a self-sufficient visit to York. It's the ultimate home-from-home! Single traveller or couple? Enjoy the room as it is, set up as a studio flat, with distinct areas created by the original Victorian beams. The 49" Smart HD television can be viewed from the sofa or the bed, and the dining table doubles up as a peaceful workspace. For families or larger groups, the futon easily unfurls to create a double bed, and there's a full-height double air mattress too. Please note that prices are calculated with two people per bed. If you are a group of three and would like a bed each, please book for five people and explain in your message how many will be coming. (The same goes for pairs who would like a bed each; please book for three people). Thank you! With a Pack-N-Play crib, potty, highchair, and kiddy cutlery provided, there's no need to lug all your baby kit up the stairs. The kitchenette contains a two-ring electric hob, a microwave, George Foreman grill, four-slice toaster, kettle, basic cooking equipment, fridge with icebox, and crockery. I provide tea (Yorkshire and a wide selection of herbals), coffee, milk, cereal and bread, and leave it up to you to make yourselves breakfast at whatever time you want! Please note that room is on the 3rd floor and there are a lot of stairs, so it's not recommended for people with mobility issues. Getting here is extremely easy. I am on a direct route from the ring road and have private parking behind the house. The train station is a pleasant 25 minute walk along the river or through town. I welcome cyclists and can store your bicycles in my garage. Checkout is flexible depending on whether I have guests arriving after you leave, but I'll happily look after your bags whilst you explore the city on your last day. Guest access The flat is accessed through my home, so you'll be sharing a front door and the stairs with me and other guests. Once you're on the top floor, you should have everything you need, and the space will be entirely your own. There is a lock on the door for your peace of mind. Please note that this is my home, so I respectfully ask that the rest of the house remain off-limits. During your stay I work from home and love to help guests plan their trips so if you need me, I'll be around. However, it's a large house, and even when I'm here, you probably won't notice! So if you prefer to do your own thing, I'm very happy to leave you to it. Other things to note Please note that there is strictly no smoking anywhere on the premises.
