EZ "Bachstelze" in the idyllic Hockenmühle

A rare gem in the beautiful Hunsrück: Surrounded by streams and wild herbs sprinkled meadows, our lovingly furnished Hockenmühler guest rooms offer an ideal place to regenerate your body, mind & soul a little. The space "Charm and subtlety", is how our squat mill is often described by our guests. The house and the individually lovingly furnished rooms should be a home away from home. We perceive our hospitality and trust as a wonderful exchange of human values and inspiration. And here's a little bit of history: The Hockenmühle was a border point of the Rhaunen High Court for many centuries. Already in 1461, a cross between the mill and the Roman road, today's Ausonius hiking trail, was mentioned as a border sign. Later, a grey Wacken in the meadow at the Hockenmühle served this purpose. In 1764, Johann Nikolaus Trarbach was first mentioned as a miller on the Hockenmühle. Until 1950, grain was ground in the squat mill with the water Kraft and delivered with horse-drawn carts from Gustav Lorenz to the Moselle. The long period of mill operation ended with the Lorenz family. In 1995, Amja and Klaus Erfurt acquired the property and restored the buildings. By extension and conversion, the Hockenmühle could henceforth be used as a guest house and residence. Since 2014, the Hockenmühle has been run on its own and also serves as a meeting place for people interested in literature and spirituality. Guest access Our literary salon in the attic and its library is available to our guests for consultation and reading hours. On the 2.5 hectares of meadows, everyone will find their own personal sitting or lying or resting place.
