Vacation in Canada! 🇨🇦 This self contained guest apartment is just a few steps to the beautiful (Canadian) Mississippi river along the scenic trail, and a short drive to Burnstown Beach on the Madawaska river. Enjoy our art galleries, restaurants and nature walks. Almonte has lots of charm, local history, and friendly people. The space is well suited for fun lovers and business travellers alike. We welcome well behaved pets. Please be sure to include your animal companion when you book. The space Two storey space to relax and reflect in this charming Victorian home. Upstairs has two comfy bedrooms, private bathroom and sitting room. The downstairs in the sun room has a cheery little kitchenette. The principal bedroom with dual aspect windows, has a queen size bed and the second bedroom has a brand new double futon. Built in 1872, this lovely house is a 5 minute walk from the historic heart of Almonte, where you'll discover shops, fine dining, and the waterfalls of the beautiful Mississippi river. Bring your kayak or rowboat: The launch at Metcalfe Geoheritage Park is just down the street! Guest access You'll love this cute, self contained 2 bedroom suite on the second storey. The living room has 2 comfy chairs, a double futon and everything you need to make coffee, tea or cocktails. The kitchenette with fridge, freezer, hotplate and microwave is in the sunroom downstairs. Please note: the only sink is in the upstairs bathroom, so I provide bottled water for cooking. Your private bathroom has an old fashioned claw-foot bathtub with a shower. There is on site parking. Other things to note The only plumbing is in the guests' private bathroom (not in the kitchenette) So I provide bottled distilled water and offer full dishwasher service. Guests can leave their dishes out and I return them clean and sanitized.
