Welcome to our sunny and petite 700 sq ft cottage house apartment! It's the perfect place for solo biz travelers, couples, and even small groups of close friends who don't mind being cozy. Don't let the small size fool you though, we pack a big punch in amenities, from our smart lock self check-in to our fully equipped kitchen and high-speed internet (1.2 gig download, 50 mbps upload - perfect for streaming cat videos--just don't bring your cats to watch them with you). The space But don't just take our word for it, our guests have spoken! One guest said, "Had everything we needed and more. Strong security system made us feel safe, but the area was nice as well so not much reason to feel unsafe." Another raved, "Everything was spot-on and the bed was particularly nice. I will definitely come again. Ditch the hotels and treat yourself to someplace better." Now, let's address the elephant in the room, or rather, the preschool next door. Yes, you will hear the sound of children playing during the day or any of the activities the preschool may be teaching the kids, including animals (currently hens and roosters), or music. But it's nothing a pair of noise-canceling headphones can't fix. And who knows, maybe you'll even pick up a new hopscotch move or two! Just be aware that on some weekends, the patrons of the neighborhood bar may park on the street and you might hear them walking to and from the bar. But hey, they're just jealous they're not staying in our cozy little cottage, right? Oh--and one other thing--because children may be playing nearby, we kindly ask that you not smoke outside either. So come on over and enjoy our premium mattresses and crisp linens, fresh white towels, and complimentary toiletries. Plus, you'll have a dedicated outdoor parking spot (for standard-sized vehicles only, sorry monster truck owners), and it's just a quick 10-minute walk to the train or a 12-minute drive to downtown Chicago. CHECK-IN SUPPORT ONLY AVAILABLE UNTIL 10PM Our check-in support hours are from 4pm to 10pm. If you think you'll be arriving after 10pm, please let us know so we can make sure to stay up and be available to help with any check-in problems you may encounter. We want to make sure your check-in goes smoothly, so we recommend checking out the "Check-In Instructions" section of our Airbnb listing before you arrive. We've found that most check-in issues are due to small errors, such as entering the code in the lockbox instead of the smart lock or not waiting long enough for the smart lock to reset. So double-check those instructions and you should be good to go! Of course, if you do run into any problems during check-in, don't hesitate to reach out to us. We'll do our best to help you out. Just keep in mind that if you check-in after 10pm and run into issues, we may not be able to help you until the next morning. So, make sure to arrive on time to avoid any unnecessary stress. SUPPLIES We want to make sure you have everything you need to kick off your stay on the right foot. That's why we've prepared a pack of starter supplies for you to use during your first day - no need to rush to the store right away! Just a friendly reminder though, if you need additional supplies like toilet paper, paper towels, or laundry detergent during your stay, you'll need to pick those up yourself. Don't worry, we won't charge you for the starter supplies, and we're sure you'll have a blast exploring the local stores! We won't be able to deliver supplies, but if you need any recommendations on where to find them, feel free to ask us. DISCLAIMER: This property is professionally treated for pests, but as with any home, occasional bugs or rodents may be present. By booking, you acknowledge this and agree that no refunds will be issued for pest sightings. LONGER STAYS For reservations that last more than 7 days, we'll need to check the property every week to ensure everything is in tip-top shape. This is just a routine inspection and we'll work with you to schedule a convenient time. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain the property during your extended stay. TV APPS Our Roku TVs are a great way to access apps like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and more during your stay. Please note that we don't have subscriptions to these apps or cable TV, but you can easily access them with your own account credentials. Just remember to log out of your accounts before checking out so that your account information remains secure. EARLY CHECK-INS/LATE CHECK-OUTS We totally get it, sometimes you just want to start your vacation early or take a little extra time to relax before heading out. We're happy to help make that happen, as long as it doesn't interfere with our cleaning schedule or any other guests' plans. Keep in mind that we won't be able to confirm your early check-in or late check-out until the day before your arrival or departure, and we do charge an hourly fee for this service, which must be paid in advance. NO PARTIES!/NO VISITORS We just wanted to give you a quick heads up that our property is not a party or event house. We've even hired a security firm to help us keep the peace and ensure everyone's safety while they're here. Please keep in mind that this is a residential neighborhood, so we do have to be extra careful about noise and other disturbances. If you do happen to violate our house rules and have an unauthorized party or gathering, we'll have to cancel your reservation and unfortunately, you won't be receiving any refunds. Also, just a reminder that only registered guests are allowed on the property. Visitors aren't permitted, and while we rarely exercise this right, we do reserve the right to enter the property if necessary. We even have 24/7 overseas monitoring of security cameras to help us keep everything in check. We hope you understand that our rules are in place to make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable stay. NO SMOKING We kindly request that all guests refrain from smoking indoors, including tobacco, marijuana, vapes, or any other substance with an odor. We understand that smoking is a personal choice, but we want to maintain a clean and comfortable environment for all of our guests. Because this is part of a pre-school campus, smoking outside is also NOT permitted. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our home and outdoor area smoke-free. Please note that there is a $500 fee for treating smoke smells inside the home. If you need assistance finding a smoking-friendly unit, please feel free to search for listings that permit smoking or reach out to us for recommendations. NO PETS We kindly ask that you refrain from bringing any pets as this is a pet-free environment. We understand that pets are part of the family, but due to the comfort of all our guests, we have a strict no-pet policy. DAMAGES We take great pride in providing a beautiful and well-maintained home for our guests. OTHER THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE YOU BOOK STAIRS This is a second floor walk up. PARKING The unit comes with one tight outside parking spot (pictured in listing). The Village of Oak Park does NOT permit street parking at night. You will not get overnight street parking passes so do not bring more than 1 car. CHILDREN'S AMENITIES Pack and play available upon request for a charge of $15. Pack n play linens not provided. BEDS Please note we have 1 queen bed and 1 full pull our sofa. To supplement, we can provide 1 folding single bed. You need to request the extra beds--and there might be a charge for them. Please don't expect that they will be available for parties of under 4 guests. ADJOINING UNIT There is a unit downstairs which is also available on Airbnb. If you have a slightly larger party you could rent both the upstairs 1 bed/1 bath apt and the ground floor 2 bed/1.5 bath apt. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan and room darkening curtains for the travel worn or jet lagged traveller. POTENTIAL FOR NOISE Oak Park is generally a quiet neighborhood but you will hear noise of children from the preschool next door. Also you may hear the noise from passersbys outside, police or fire trucks occasionally. If you are noise sensitive, and cannot use noise cancelling headphones to address potential noise sensitivity, please find another booking. RESTAURANTS Looking for some delicious eats?
