Artist Forrest Greenslade’s studio is just below. The Greenslade home is behind the studio and Garret. They are always around to see to guests needs and comfort. The apartment is meticulously cleaned and sanitized according to the AirBNB protocol. The air conditioning system is equipped with sanitizing UV light. Nature-inspired painter and sculptor, Dr. Forrest Greenslade has his Organic Forrestry Studio and Forrest Dweller Sculpture Garden at his home, with retired Realtor wife Carol-Ann. The Artist’s Garret, just above Forrest’s studio, is a comfortable one bedroom apartment with gallery sitting room, full bath and kitchen, all decorated with Greenslade’s art. The Artist's Garret is walking distance from Fearrington Inn, a famous 5 star restaurant and for weddings and other gatherings. After parking in a private space, take a few moments to enjoy some of Forrest’s sculpture on the 1+acre ptoperty or paintings in the Greenslades home gallery. Forrest and Carol-Ann will be happy to give you a personal tour. They can also arrange for you to visit other Artist Studios in the area. You will also find information on local recreation, shopping and dining in the surrounding areas in your room. The apartment is very private, in a separate building. The sunny kitchen has granite counters with stainless sink, refrigerator-freezer, well stocked Keurig coffee maker, microwave, toaster, range and dishwasher. They don't serve breakfast, but you can enjoy a snack or meal at Aunt Addie’s antique maple dinette table & chairs, decorated by local artist friend Kate Ladd. The large gallery sitting room is filled with light, right up to the cathedral ceilings and reflects from the refinished parquet wood floor. You can sit in the comfortable leather chair, and put your feet up on the matching ottoman, or use your computer via wifi at the partner’s desk, on which Forrest wrote his PhD thesis, over 50 years ago. A futon adds additional comfortable seating. The cozy bedroom has a queen-sized bed, with 500 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets. The room is decorated with keepsakes and childhood works by daughter-artist Kathryn Greenslade Armstrong. Watch some cable TV, do some reading, and get a good night’s sleep. Just off the full bath, is a walk-in closet/library. The apartment has central heat and air conditioning with an electronic air scrubber. Enjoy the sculpture garden. Take a long walk on one of the community trails that adjoins the Greenslade garden, which is a National Wildlife Federation certified wildlife habitat. The garden has been featured in Carolina Gardener Magazine. The Artist’s Garret is a quick walk to the local Village Center, with incredible gardens, gourmet restaurants, a first-rate independent bookstore, spa, hair salon and charming shops. Guest access Enjoy the sculpture garden decks and patio , the gallery in the Greenslade home and the wonderful restaurants, and shops in the Village Center. Other things to note We are in Chatham County, where we enjoy relaxed country living, and invite our guests to make use of our yard and gardens. There is a water garden, several sitting and eating areas, garden paths and arbors... even a hidden rope hammock in an area we call the grove. We want you to feel at home here! Other nearby areas of interest include Jordan Lake, the , Down town Tiger Rescue, Chapel Hill's Coker Arboretm, Morehead Planatarium, the Ackland Museum and NC Botanical Garden.
