By the hill

My home is better described as a traditional Athenian house decorated with architectural elements from the beginning of the previous century. My family and I have been living in this house for more than 4 generations already and - as far as I can remember myself - it has always been open to everybody. Including you. :) The space My house has been the home of my family for the past four generations since it was built before the 1930s. It is located at the foot of Filopappou Hill, which is part of the Acropolis Hill. The main advantage of the house is that it is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, yet just one stop away from the Acropolis metro station and two stops from Syntagma square. Several series of Greek TV as well as some advertisements have used my house to film their material making it kind of famous in the neighborhood. At daytime the sun shines directly into the house. One can leisurely enjoy his/her morning coffee in the living room, before deciding to start the day. The archaeological areas nearby can be visited on foot through Filopappou Hill or through the city. Everything you may need is close to you: a supermarket across the street, a grocery flea-market every Friday, a drugstore, local fast-food or traditional restaurants, bars and cafes. (Tip: visit my detailed Guidebook) It offers close access to the metro, the tram and several buses to take you anywhere in the city or to the sea (up to Cape Sounion); you can always, of course, choose to walk through Plaka and get to see the "old city" of Athens. Other things to note For the summer period feel free to use the several fans (ceiling & portable) found in the house. Thanks to its stone walls, the house is able to keep low temperatures in summer and high in winter. However an AC unit is also available. Air conditioning (cooling) is available when indoor temperature exceeds a certain threshold. Same applies for heating (natural gas boiler). Registration Details 00003504704
