More pics on Insta @rockhavenbnb Enjoy a quiet and relaxing, light-filled comfortable getaway in Inez's Sweet Retreat -- a cottage-style suite that includes a newly renovated full private bathroom, a Roku TV, a plush love seat, window seats, a kitchenette with microwave, toaster, mini-fridge, mini griddle, and Keurig coffee maker, a balcony with table and chairs, and plenty of books and games. This suite is the only one inside the house, so there will be no need to interact with other guests. Highlights from our reviews: “We had a wonderful time at Lynn and Christian's place. The Inez Suite was fabulous and had everything we needed for a great weekend away. We enjoyed the cute, well-equipped and stocked kitchenette and the adorable balcony off the back (our own private sanctuary for morning coffee!). ... We've stayed in AirBnbs before and one thing we always note is the cleanliness of the place. I can honestly say this is the cleanest place we've stayed! In addition , the personal touches throughout the space were perfect and we can tell a lot of thought went into the design and layout of the suite. It takes a lot to impress us and we were thoroughly impressed. Everything was superb from the first moment I emailed Lynn to our check out day. We are so glad we selected this place for our weekend away. We hope to be back again soon!” - Aubrey “Lynn and Christian have created a very special getaway retreat. The Inez's Sweet Retreat on the top floor (named for the wife of a famous previous owner) was like sleeping in a life sized doll's house. My wife and I really enjoyed sitting on the balcony deck overlooking the property. We snacked and watched the stars for a long time. In the late afternoon I reclined on the window seat and wrote a chapter of my next book--the next morning I wrote another chapter in the garden...." - Fred This suite is idea for a honeymoon, and the gardens below make a lovely spot for an elopement, small (micro)wedding or vow renewal ceremony. We accept government rates for guests whose business stay is being paid for by a government credit card. Outside, you can hang out on the roomy front porch and swing or stroll through our lush gardens and relax among the birdsong. We will give you as much privacy as you want but will be happy to help or answer questions as needed. Our house is one block from Washington St., the main street in historic Harpers Ferry, so it is quiet yet still close to all the action. The famous trains that run through town at river level are far enough away that all you will hear is a distant wail, if anything at all. Only a few yards away is the former Storer College campus (now occupied by the National Park Service), as well as the Appalachian Trail and the AT Conservancy headquarters. A stroll further down the street takes you by historic homes and buildings, and at the end of the street is the oldest cemetery in town, just above Jefferson Rock. The views of Lower Town HF and the two rivers is great from there! The main residential section of the Town of Harpers Ferry (where our home is located) is over half a mile up a fairly steep hill from the rivers, the National Historic Park area, and the C & O Canal Towpath. Through-cyclists on the trail, especially, should be aware of the strenuous ride up. We are about .7 mile from the Amtrak and MARC train station. Let us know if you need a ride up the hill when you arrive. We will provide transportation if we are available. The private bathroom is located within the guest suite. Check in on Sundays may be delayed until 4 pm. The second flight of stairs is narrower and steeper than the first flight. Keep that in mind if bringing large bags. A Town-issued guest parking hang-tag for one vehicle will be left in the suite and must be displayed in your vehicle windshield for parking in front of our property. The fee for this tag is included in your rate. The tag does not apply to parking anywhere else in Town. If bringing a second vehicle, there will be a charge for an additional guest parking tag. Bicycles may be stored on our front porch. We do not have a convenient set-up for recharging electric bicycles. TO OUR GUESTS WHO ARE NIGHT OWLS: Please remember that you are staying in our home. We sleep on the second floor. We want you to enjoy your vacation, but if you like to be out past 11 p.m. and/or watch TV/talk/move furniture, etc., late at night, you might find a better fit in our private entry suite found under "Beautiful Suite, Spa Bathroom" If you just love this suite, then please be considerate of your hosts after 11 pm. TO OUR SUMMER GUESTS: The suite is cooled by central AC and also has ceiling fans and a supplemental portable AC unit to keep you cool. However, being a third-floor space in a 1920s home, if the outside temperature reaches 90 degrees and above on a sunny afternoon, the suite is hard to keep as cool as you might experience in a newer home. We'll have suggestions for keeping the suite as cool and comfortable as possible during days of unseasonable heat. If you need to bring your beloved pet with you, we can recommend a great local petsitter! There are NO surveillance cameras on the property. We provide a map of walking routes to nearby views of the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers, as well as restaurant lists and info on local attractions.
