NY Style basement studio, Brussels

Close to city life when you feel like it, just far enough when you are not up to it... The space A studio that consists of a spacious living room, bedroom with queen-size bed and bathroom with walk-in shower. It has wifi, a media center with Netflix, HiFi, hardwood floors, an eye-catching marble hearth and a sofa bed for visitors. Use of a washing machine, dryer and professional treadmill is permitted. Because the studio is on the basement level, the indoor temperature is always comfortable even on the hottest days of the year. The bathroom has a humidifier and all of its water runs through a water softener. Beware: this studio does not have its own kitchen. Proper cooking is therefore not possible. A private fridge, a Nespresso coffeemaker, a microwave, a blender, and other breakfast necessities are made available to the guests in the private breakfast area adjacent to the studio. Safe parking can be found within walking distance (400m) in a private car park. On foot, fifteen minutes away from downtown Brussels and a five-minute walk to the international train station (Brussels Midi) this studio is ideal to experience the city of Brussels, the country of Belgium but also most of western Europe (Bruges - 45', Antwerp - 40', Ghent - 30', Paris - 75', London - 150', Amsterdam - 120' etc.). The Brussels Midi station functions as a hub for most trams, buses, subways and the shuttles to Charleroi and the airport train to Brussels International airport. By Car (numerous renting options in Midi station) it is only a five-minute ride to the main national and international highways (E40, E19 etc.) Host Jeroen is a licensed barista and an experienced Brussels city guide. One of the best Italian restaurants in the city is only one block away and the Midi Station hosts an excellent selection of cafes and cheap restaurants of which the Exki natural food restaurant is a fine example. Across from our house recently an ethnic supermarket opened where you can do your last-minute shopping seven days a week from 8 till 20h. Beer enthusiasts can visit the world-famous Gueuze, Cherry and Raspberry brewery Cantillon half a mile down the road. The house was recently entirely renovated with the help of Brussels based architect Bruno Vanbesien. It has featured on numerous architecture websites, in national and international interior decoration magazines and on blogs. Guest access Guests have access to the studio, the private breakfast area downstairs and to the washing machine and dryer area. The room with the treadmill (+ TV and hifi) can also be used by sport enthusaists. During your stay Since only the entrance to the house is shared the interaction is completely up to the guests. However we enjoy guests who like to share their Brussels experience with us. We live in the same house so we try to make ourselves available for our guests when it comes to extra information, tips from locals etc. Other things to note We have two children (2009/2014) who during the school year attend school on weekdays. Over the years we have established a morning routine that looks like this: getting downstairs around six thirty, feeding the dog and cat, making coffee, eating breakfast as a family, getting the kids and their bikes ready to leave for school by 8h10 a.m. Then the house returns to a calm state. The kids and get back from school around 5h p.m. Marijke and I get back around 6 or 7 p.m.
