Escape to Villa Suara Sungai, a peaceful oasis at the edge of the village with sweeping mountain, rice field and jungle views. The entire villa, including extensive gardens and a 15 meter pool, is yours to enjoy - a perfect place to rest and relax. The space Villa Suara Sungai ("Sound of the River") is a place of tranquil beauty with breathtaking views of the surrounding rice fields and distant mountains. The house is set on 30 are at the edge of our village, yet it is less than a 15 minute drive from the center of Ubud. The buildings are a mix of new and recycled materials, including recycled teak cladding and pillars reclaimed from a 100+ year old wooden bridge in Kalimantan. The inviting 15 meter swimming pool sits above a small river and is set among lush gardens, including several lawns perfect for children's play. The kitchen, dining and living area are combined into a single, spacious open living area with gentle breezes and views on three sides. Our modern kitchen contains a large walk in pantry and is fully equipped with Western style (and sized) appliances, including a full-sized refrigerator, coffee maker and grinder, three-burner range, blender, toaster oven and full size oven. The dining area hosts bar seating for six and a large teak wood dining table with chairs for eight. Traditional wooden couches and chairs as well as modern rattan and steel chairs offer comfortable seating areas in the adjacent open living spaces. A separate, enclosed den hosts a large, comfortable L shaped sofa for TV viewing or relaxing inside. Next to the den are two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed (and twin trundle), the other can be provided with either two twins or one queen (and another twin sized trundle). Each bedroom has its own en suite outdoor bathroom with shower. A separate Joglo style building offers a luxurious master bedroom with a California king size, teak bed and a walk around deck offering stunning views of the mountains and surrounding countryside. Plentiful closet space and a full en suite outdoor bathroom, including both a shower and a bathtub are attached. The TV den and all bedrooms are fully enclosed and offer both fan and air con. There are overhead fans in the outdoor living area. The maximum number of guests is six adults and two children (in trundle beds). The price includes breakfast supplies for your first morning, daily maid service (except Sundays), linens and towels. Meal service, airport transfer, driver or scooter hire, babysitting, massage, yoga, cooking lessons on site and tours can also be arranged for an additional charge. Guest access Guests enjoy sole access to the entire house and grounds. Other things to note OUTDOOR LIVING: Except for the bedrooms and TV room, this house welcomes the outside in. On occasion, a bat will fly through the living room at night. You might also encounter geckos, frogs, insects or other animal life. And you will experience the authentic sights and sounds of the rice farming and village life of your surrounds. FAMILIES: This is a great and sturdy house for kids, with plenty of room to run, swim and play. Please do be aware there are some hazards that may make it more suitable for older children: A steep drop off from the lower garden, down to the river; the pool is not fenced; and, the deep end is 2.5 meters. There is, however, a gentle entry to the shallow end, about 1.5 meters deep, with plenty of long, wide steps and bench seating. CATS: There are two friendly cats who live at the villa.
