Peaceful Nature Ranch with Hiking and Open Spaces

Less than an hour from LA but the ranch feels like a world away. Wild quail, an oak grive with a hammock, an old goldmine, and the ruins of a homesteader's cabin: a stay here is a return to something simple and wonderful -- and we've made a comfortable modern space for you to rest, with nice beds, streaming TV and everything you need. Film scouts love our open country 40 minutes from Hollywood. Hike around the ranch and find views for miles, and a sky full of stars. The space The ranch spreads over more than 100 acres with the ruins of the original homsteader's cabin and gold miners' cabins dotted along trails and gullies amongst hills where juniper, scrub oak and yucca grow. The guest space is modern and comfortable (and has an unusually low ceiling) and is in a separate structure from the main house. The land is also home to wild jackrabbits, owls, hawks and quail. If you enter from the side away from the main house, it's completely private and you can come and go easily. The other entrance is through the patio shared with the main house, where there is outdoor seating. There is a closet in the master with plenty of space. TV has Netflix etc. Guest access Plenty of parking on the property. Other things to note The living room has a low ceiling and is not suitable for people over 6-foot-3. The bedroom with a single bed has a curtain for a door and no windows. To get to the property, you generally exit Highway 14 at Escondido Canyon. You will turn off Escondido onto a dirt road that any car can pass safely. (Again, all cars are fine on this road). It is less than a mile on the dirt road to the property. If you are trying to map how close the listing is to where you need to be, you can map it from Escondido Canyon and Highway 14 for a pretty close estimate. But the property is tucked two miles away, in a very quiet location, far from any noise. Very quiet and lovely.
