Hallston Hills - Forever Moments

Escape to the rolling green hills of South Gippsland and relax at Hallston Hills cottage, two acres of private fenced land. A getaway for adventure or peace, situated just 1.5 kms off the fabulous Grand Ridge Rd scenic tourist drive. For those looking to relax, you won’t need to leave. Enjoy the hot tub, warm yourself by the fire and walk amongst the vineyard. There are DVD’s aplenty, a games console and an Apple TV. The space The cottage has a large deck, with BBQ and built in spa. There are two living areas and two bedrooms. Configurations - Room 1: A king-size bed; Room 2: A queen-size bed; Hallston Hills is fully furnished with all the appliances, utensils and comforts to make the cottage feel like your ‘home away from home’. Guest access Once you drive down the driveway at Hallston Hills, forever moments begin. Plenty of parking and a single step at the front the entrance. The back verandah has steps to the grassed area and vineyard. Other things to note Perfect for a relaxing weekend away, a great place to explore the surrounding area. A trip to Hallston Hills cottage can also be converted into a farm-stay experience by combining your holiday with fun-filled adventures at Hallston Valley Farm. THINGS TO NOTE WHEN BOOKING We have a strict policy of no parties and no smoking. SPA If you have a fake tan you must not enter the spa. INTERNET USAGE: We have Starlink internet via satellite, which is excellent. The package is unlimited. On arrival you will be given the wifi password. We have an Apple TV with Netflix, which you are welcome to use. We also have a wide variety of DVD's for you to choose from, and two TV's/DVD's. MOBILE PHONE RECEPTION: This is a rural area and our property is in a blackspot. We are able to use the Optus Network at the top of our driveway and we get fleeting coverage around the property, but it is unlikely you will have coverage inside the home. We have good wifi which may allow you to make and receive calls if your phone handset and network allow for it (switch on 'Wi-Fi Calling'), or you can use apps like face-time, WhatsAp, Viber etc. to make and receive phone calls. Another option is to drive 1.5kms up to the Grand Ridge Rd where the coverage is very good for the Optus Network. The coverage for Telstra is similar to Optus in our area. For Vodaphone coverage, you will likely need to take a 5-10min drive. Check the Vodafone coverage maps on their website. TV RECEPTION We don't have TV reception due to the remote location. However we have a library of DVDs and an Apple TV set up with Netflix and the major TV channel streaming apps. If you are planning to watch something particular on free-to-air television during your stay (eg. a sporting event), please check to make sure it will be streamed on the network's app. PETS: Pets are approved on a case-by-case basis. We are dog lovers, and are happy consider all requests. However please note the paddocks can get muddy at times, especially during the winter months of June/July/August. We keep the place to a very high standard and as such, we need some assurance that pets will not be allowed to roam the property unsupervised and bring mud onto the deck and/or through the house. Please note we generally don't allow pets in the winter months. SCENIC DRIVE Situated just 1.5 kms off the fabulous GRAND RIDGE ROAD SCENIC TOURIST DRIVE, which stretches for 132 kms along the ridge of the STRZELECKI RANGES. FOODIES For Foodies, there are 6 winery cellar doors within 30 minutes drive and the delightful Villages of Mirboo North (17 minutes) and Meeniyan (34 minutes) are ready for you to explore, with Restaurants, Cafes and the Grand Ridge Brewery. The Wild Dog Winery & Hogget Kitchen is highly recommended for those looking for something extra special (41 mins). TOWN The larger town of Leongatha is just 19 minutes away, with more cafes and restaurants, art galleries, supermarkets and an cinema. NATURE LOVERS For the nature lovers the local area has bushwalks such as Mount Worth National Park (15 mins) and a 74 km rail trail to explore from Leongatha to Welshpool. Wilsons Prom is a great day trip (approx. 1.5 hrs to Tidal River) or take the Grand Ridge Road all the way to Tarra Bulga National Park with rain forests, waterfalls and the iconic suspension bridge (1hr 15mins). Or head to the beach with the beautiful hamlet of Inverloch just 38 minutes away. Whichever path you choose, the rolling green hills and fabulous scenery of South Gippsland will take your breath away. HALLSTON VALLEY FARM Nearby to your stay at Hallston Hills, adventures await at Hallston Valley Farm, just a few hundred meters from the front door. Enjoy some time on the farm, with a range of activities available such as fishing, animal petting or learning about daily life on a sheep/cattle farm.
