Cozy & Peaceful 40 Acre Retreat - Pups Welcome
The Barn at Grousewood, located 35 minutes to Burlington. If you are looking for a cozy, relaxing get away, we welcome you to our converted barn. Spin some vinyl, read or play games. Centrally located for day trips to breweries, hikes and restaurants. We have hiking trails for snowshoeing and exploring our woods full of wildlife. Deer, bear, bobcat, owls, porcupine, wild turkey, grouse and more. Enjoy a fire outside or relax in front of the hearth. WiFi for traveling workers & dog friendly. The space How do you know if The Barn is right for you? Are you OK sleeping in the middle of a 40 acre forest? Don’t mind the occasional woodland animal or insect stopping by for a visit? OK hanging out in a converted barn? (It’s not a luxury space like something a hotel or quaint Bed & Breakfast offers. It used to house farm animals.) We’ve buttoned it up the best we can and have A/C & a cozy gas stove that keeps it plenty warm in the winter. All this to say, it isn’t a perfect climate controlled space. We have a kitchenette if you want to cook, a microwave if you want to reheat. A warm shower and lots of books, games and albums to enjoy. If all this sounds agreeable, then TheBarn is your perfect get away. Come and enjoy all that country living in Vermont has to offer. Guest access The barn is totally self sufficient with a mini kitchen and it's own bath suite with shower, separated from the main cabin. Enjoy your own private yard with a gravel patio that has a BBQ grill and fire pit. Other things to note Vermont is a rural state which means that all cellular networks do not work in all areas. We happen to have a Verizon tower on our road so that works well. We do have WiFi. We certainly hope that you are visiting to relax and unplug. Which means if your cell doesn't work great....maybe that isn't such a bad problem to have. There are 3 towns close by (15-18 minutes) for groceries, beer, alcohol, restaurants, drug & hardware stores. We live on a dirt road. If you are visiting us in the winter, it would be important for you to have an all wheel or 4 wheel drive vehicle, or good snow tires to get up our driveway. One final reminder: you are staying in a barn, in the woods. (It's not fancy.) That means wildlife big and small. Bring your bug spray, check for ticks, use common sense and safety when hiking or snowshoeing. We want you to be safe and have a great visit!
