Tesla's Cottage

Built in 1899, Nikola Tesla attended parties here, and some guests have suggested his presence can be felt late-at-night in the yard. (No pets allowed.) The space When this property was built in 1899, the main building included a dance floor on the second level. The cottage is designed as a relaxing, comfortable, (420-friendly) getaway. We encourage you to read the wonderful reviews left by previous guests! The cottage includes an FHD Roku-connected TV with a Bluetooth surround-sound speaker, so you can listen to music on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube, or watch a movie on one of the many streaming subscriptions available for you at the cottage: Netflix, Hulu, Paramount+, Showtime, HBO Max, and Peacock. There are many places to relax and enjoy a beverage or smoke in the spacious yard. Guests have described the yard in the evening as magical. Conveniently located between the Midland Trail and the extensive Shook's Run walking and hiking trails, we're located in Old Colorado City, a quick 10 minute walk in either direction to the heart of Downtown Colorado Springs or the heart of Old Colorado City. There are excellent restaurants and breweries within walking distance, and getting around Colorado Springs is easy via Taxi, Uber, or Lyft. There is a bus stop one block from the cottage that provides service throughout Colorado Springs. We are a 12-15min drive from the Colorado Springs airport. There are airport shuttles (Groome & SuperShuttle) available to and from both the Colorado Springs and the Denver airports. There are vans (Rocky Mtn Ride) that regularly transport to ski resorts, and a Casino Shuttle Bus that goes to Cripple Creek (the mountain gambling town). We hope you enjoy your stay! Guest access The front gate opens to a pebble path on the right that leads past the main outdoor lounging area to the cottage. The pebble path on the left leads to the hot tub. The hot tub is always on. When you are inside the hot tub there are 4 buttons on the console beside the little temperature window. The button furthest from the temperature is for the light. The next button in turns on the hot tub jets. The last two buttons control the temperature. Other things to note The best places to park are on 8th street, either behind the black Honda CR-V or in front of the pink house (on our side of the street).
