Welcome to Shanty Cat a tiny floating Maine cabin on the water docked at Peaks Island . Anybody looking for a place to stay with the best active views of the harbor will find it on our beautiful boat built here in Maine. She is equipped with a full bed a pull out couch , marine toilet and outdoor hot shower. Yes she is more akin to glamping than a hotel suite but that is her charm. Docked at Jones Landing with the more adventurous guest in mind we offer a unique way to experience island living. The space Even though she is a boat Shanty Cat feels like a tiny Maine cabin. More akin to 'Glamping' than a hotel suite she is available with the more adventurous guest in mind. She is built with reclaimed wood windows and fixtures and care has been given to the layout. Despite her 10 x 28 ft size 2 full beds are available with indoor cabin toilet and hot outdoor shower with cooler for for ice and provisions. Regular plug in power is not available but USB power is available for lap tops cell phones etc. The back deck offers the best active view on the island as kayakers, fishing boats, ferries. and sea life all pass by. Of course Both dock and boat move with the ocean so anyone who is unsteady on their feet or not comfortable with the motion of a boat should consider staying on land. With the great active harbor view you will also experience the full effects off the Maine weather and boat traffic, exciting for some and not for others so consider this when booking. Their are no cooking facilities on board but if you stay as our guest the great location means restaurants, grocery and coffee shop are all within walking distance as are kayaks, bike and golf cart rentals.
