All electric (US current) two bedroom house with balcony, porch and 1 block from the plaza. There is one queen bed in the larger, back bedroom, and 4 bunk beds in a second smaller bedroom. Fantastic view of the cathedral & the town. Easy walk down the alley to the plaza where you will find food & park benches with a return walk of about 5 mins uphill to the house. Público parking available near the house, at the driver's expense. Open space with lots of "outside" opportunities: balcony and porch. Two bedrooms are available: one with four bunkbeds, the other a private room with a queen bed. To get to the larger private bedroom with queen bed you have to walk through the smaller bedroom. Tile floors, tile bathrooms, breathtaking view in an all electric historic house. Refrigerator, stove, blender, coffee maker, tea kettle, and cookware. (no microwave.) Wi-fi is available in the house and at restaurants. Smart TV with Netflix and YouTube access. The sink is in a room outside of the shower and toilet so it is comfortable for two people to use. There are ceiling fans in every room. (Washing machine and second bathroom are available only when staying 5 days or more or the group is 4 people or larger). Silver buyers will find lots of working space for boxes, pricing, sorting and packing in a space you can be sure is secure. This house in on an alley--you can't drive to it-- but parking is available in several parking garages 5-15min walk away. The alley is a bit steep for the 4min walk up to the house. If you walk up the alley beyond the house to the street ("Mesquite") above, you can see where a taxi could let you off (at alley "Mesquite" or driver might know "Altos de Redondo") and you can then walk down hill to house. The balcony of the house and the porch overlook a hotel pool with bar that opened in April 2017. Some Saturdays can be noisy. The bar closes at 9pm. You will have access to most of the house--two bedrooms, the smaller with writing desk, ante-bathroom, bathroom with shower and toilet, living room with sofa and chairs, kitchen with table and seating for 6, and porch with chairs. ( When staying 5 days or more or the group is 4 people or larger the washing machine and second bathroom will be available). The alley has old multi-story adobe houses along it, several once lived in by famous people. They are lived in primarily by mature adults, most of them Mexicans. The view from the kitchen balcony is across rooftops and over the trees around the plaza to the towers of the Santa Prisca church or look straight down to a nice hotel swimming pool and the alley directly below the balcony. The pool is fairly empty during the week and occasionally even on weekends. If you walk up the alley from the house then turn either left or right onto the next alley, there are houses offering staple groceries just a few feet in either direction. Stores for gifts or for food, ATMs, and the plaza filled with benches and trees are just two blocks away down the alley from the house. Taxis and van buses are available at the bottom of the alley, 1 min walk. Flecha roja + Costa Line bus station is directly below the house, about a 10 min walk with a rolling bag. Buses come from cities of Mexico City (Taxquena station $200-350 pesos July 2021), Cuernavaca, Toluca--Iztapa de la Sol, Iguala, Chilpancingo, and Acapulco. Estrella de Oro bus line also serves the town from Taxqueña station in Mexico City and has its own station in Taxco. There is a bus directly from both terminals at the Mexico City airport to Cuernavaca and there is a bus from MEX airport to Taxco at 10am ONLY MONDAYS on Estrella de Oro, or from TAXCO to AIRPORT at 5am ONLY MONDAYS. There is also one bus a day between Puebla and Taxco. (You don't need a car in Taxco.) There is no yard at the house, just the alleyway and the house itself. Foot traffic in the alley ends around 8pm nightly. In addition to the silver jewelry stores there is a huge silver jewelry market around the bus station every Saturday of the year. While the alley is very quiet, the city is frequently filled with amplified music from the plaza until about 11pm. The pool, at the hotel across from the house can be noisy some Saturdays and Sundays.
