In the village there is a wonderful farm to table restaurant, the Gleanery. A local pub, friendly, great food with indoor and outdoor dining & pub. The General Store, is the oldest continually run general store in Vt. The Next Stage, Yellow Barn, Sandglass Theater, these places provide an amazing collection of visual, musical, spoken word and world renowned art and artist to experience. These cultural event locations are but a mile away for the Cottage I hope you choose for your stay. Originally built as a guest house. A perfect getaway for some peace and quiet. It gets dark here at night, very dark. You will see a sky full of stars most nights. Only a mile from the village on a dirt road. Very quite, private and in the woods. Extra care is put into cleaning every surface between guests. Keeping it very clean brings me another peace of mind I can share with you. You will have the space all to yourself. The guest house is for you and the folks you travel with. There is parking both just outside the doorway and a spot down near the road. I am here on the property in my own home and live a quite simple life. And am available to assist in helping to make your stay a wonderful one. The loft bedroom is upstairs with a ceiling height of 53", has skylights and a cozy sitting area. It is quite here and the Cottage provides a space to enjoy that quite. There is not much in the way of public transportation. A park and ride in the village, one mile away. A train station in Brattleboro where I can collect you and drop you back off. The train does run from major cities and some small towns right into the heart of Brattleboro. There are some very good bike shops in this area. One right in Putney, The West Hill Bike Shop. Wifi is good most of the time but it is not as reliable as we would like it to be, welcome to Vermont. However cell phone reception is very good, no one to date has ever complained about not being able to use their cell phones. My cell, Verizon. I am here on the property and available as needed. You will check in with me, learn how to use the wood stove or simply use the installed electric baseboard heat, thermostat on the wall. I can have a fire going for your arrival if you let me know you'd like that. Otherwise you are with the folks you travel with and me as needed. And there is of course, no smoking. Upstairs is a loft, a lower ceiling with skylights that open as needed, and a cozy sitting area. Quiet, & comfortable.
