Maine Island Getaway

Maine Island Getaway Nemenikuk is a grand summer cottage located on the southern tip of MacMahan Island, with spectacular views of the ocean, Hendrick’s Head lighthouse and nearby picturesque islands. The island is accessible by passenger boat only, and ferry on and off the island is included in the rental. The house is fully furnished and equipped for hosting large groups—it’s perfect for entertaining, but is also ideal for allowing personal space. It’s a wonderful place for a group retreat. The space The main floor is one level up, with the front entrance featuring a beautiful, wide, open staircase from ground level to the second floor. The most commonly used entrance is the north staircase that leads to the back porch with a gas grill, and into the large eat-in kitchen with a table that seats more than 12. Off the kitchen is the bar/pantry that leads to the dining room, also featuring a table that seats more than 12. Through the dining room is the living room, with a large fireplace and doors that open out in three directions to a wide, wrap-around porch, with both covered and exposed areas and lots of seating, a dining area, and hammocks for leisurely naps. Yoga mats are available for a glorious practice in the sun or shade. The living room leads around to the front hallway with the main staircase, and on to a bathroom, and back to the kitchen. On the second floor, there are seven bedrooms, one and a half baths, and a shower room. The two large front corner rooms have king-size beds, and the smaller bedroom between has two twin beds. There is a second bedroom with two twin beds, one queen-size bedroom, one double/full-size bedroom, and one large bedroom with four twin beds.
