Description
Chelan County STR Permit #323. One of only 10 in-holdings surrounded by the protected Camas Meadows Natural Area Preserve, the rustic off-the-grid house reflects the owners’ ecocentric and eclectic style. Enjoy the wildlflowers and elk while you drink coffee on the back deck. Bring your hiking shoes, skis, snowshoes, or mountain bikes and just head out the front door! After siesta, it's an easy drive to Leavenworth, where dinner at Yodelin and a night on the town await! The space County regs limit guests to 6, but (ahem) the space has 4BR w 3 adult bedrooms and a kids room that sleeps up to 5. The master has a single so little kids can sleep in the parent’s room. The neighborhood at Camas Meadows is completely off-grid, with no public power, water or sewer lines. All resources come directly from the property, with brand-new solar-powered electricity and a high-efficiency tankless heater to warm up the pristine well water. The Chalet is rustic, with oak floors and trim on the main floor. Piney knot walls and chic new carpet give the bedrooms and upstairs living room a warm cozy feel. Both living rooms and the master bedroom have large picture windows facing the meadow. The awesome kitchen makes it easy to cook for ten guests. The commercial stove has six burners, two ovens, and a griddle, while the refrigerator, countertop, sink, and dishwasher are all new. The vintage dining table will seat up to ten, even 12 guests in a pinch. Just grab more chairs from the sitting room, which is filled with mid-century modern furniture from which to converse while you enjoy the massive view of the meadow. The upstairs has a TV room with a pull-down screen and projector and DVD library. The sectional couch let's the whole group enjoy the show. Separating the TV room from the yoga area, the game table provides space for board games, puzzles, and reading. Or if it suits you, light some incense and play some toney music on the stereo while you stretch out on one of the yoga mats. Beds are all sturdy wood or metal with new mattresses. Mattresses range from soft (downstairs) to medium (master) to firm (upstairs queen) to accommodate a range of preferences. All beds have down comforters. The fourth bedroom is set up for kids, with a queen-full bunkbed, a twin platform bed, and a floor mattress. A bookcase filled with books and games will keep the kids occupied, for well, maybe five kid minutes. Fortunately, the kid's room is closest to the door leading outdoors! Guest access Guests have access to the entire living area, although the pantry and basement contain personal items and are locked. Other things to note - 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is required for access during the snowy season. - The solar system is backed up by a generator, which kicks on if the solar batteries run down. -No shooting or ORVs are allowed in the neighborhood or the meadow. -Walking access is not allowed in the meadow. A road/trail system encompasses the meadow and provides excellent visual access to meadow flora, fauna, and skylines.
