The Lodge, part of Stancombe Manor, is a place of peace, tranquility and beauty. Ground-floor barn conversion with 2 bedrooms: king size & twin/triple beds Sleeps 4-5 in 2 bedrooms Shared use of Stancombe’s facilities: indoor pool, tennis, 7 acres of gardens Close to award-winning beaches and fabulous walking Half-way between Salcombe and Dartmouth Great pubs and restaurants a short drive away The space The Lodge is a ground floor barn conversion formed from centuries-old barns at Stancombe Manor, a walled Devon hamlet listed in the Domesday Book. It’s a great base for family or friends to explore Salcombe, Dartmouth and the surrounding beaches. There are 17 privately owned properties which share 7 acres of gardens. This part of Devon is known for beautiful countryside and beaches, secret green lanes, and a host of good pubs and restaurants. We are 3 miles from the sea at Torcross, and 10 miles from both Salcombe and Dartmouth. Here is what the apartment includes: OPEN PLAN Living area - two 3-seater sofas - TV and DVD/blue ray player with some DVDS Kitchen - under counter fridge and separate freezer - 2 ovens and hob - dishwasher - washing machine - kettle and cafetière - crockery, cutlery, cups, pans and all you need for meal preparation Dining table and chairs for 6 BEDROOM 1 - king-sized bed (5’) - cot if needed - wardrobe and chest of drawers - en-suite shower room with large shower, towels, heated towel rail BEDROOM 2 - twin beds plus a comfortable pull-up bed (quite a squash with the third bed, but fine for a third little one) - wardrobe and chest of drawers - en-suite bathroom EXTRAS - WiFi - we are in a very rural part of the country and WiFi can be intermittent - gas central heating - combi boiler OUTSIDE - just for you - patio with table and chairs for 6 - small back seating area for 2, washing line OUTSIDE - shared with guests from the other Stancombe properties - 7 acres of grounds - indoor pool - barbecues - seating - parking a few steps from the front door - outdoor tennis court - snooker room - children’s games room inc table tennis - pitch and putt - outdoor children’s play area - There are many ancient green lanes nearby, one of which runs through Stancombe and leads down to the church at Sherford, another leads down towards the sea. Guest access Guests have access to the whole cottage which is on the ground floor of restored barns. It has its own entrance with a key box by the front door for easy 24-hour access. Other things to note The lanes around us are very narrow with passing points. Although we have WiFi, it isn’t a strong signal due to the rural location.
