Bright and spacious apartment that sleeps 4 in the heart of the central Vermont mountains. Property is 80 Acres surrounded by thousands of acres of state forest. Fully furnished with all amenities with heated indoor parking, air conditioning, and access to amazing outdoor opportunities like skiing and biking in all seasons. The property has new high speed fiber optic internet. Come enjoy all the seasons Vermont has to offer in complete comfort and ease. Reduced rates for extended stays. Our apartment has access to an extensive trail network over the 80 acres of the property for hiking, biking, x-country and downhill skiing. There are also many miles of back roads to explore. A bunny hill and rope tow on the property, in a private setting is also an option, weather permitting. The other downhill skiing is accessed by skinning or hiking up the 550' of vertical over a 1 mile switchback road to the top of the mountain. The grounds are professionally landscaped and maintained year round. The apartment was built in 2013 and the large deck was added in the Summer of 2018. Also have upgraded high speed Starlink internet. It is heated and cooled by a heatpump heating/cooling system that is powered by the rooftop solar array. The garage has a heated radiant slab in it ready to keep your car warm and dry in the winter. The apartment is well furnished and fully equipped so all you need to bring are your clothes and adventure gear. Guests have access to the back garden, garage, and the trail network on the property. Access to the skiing is granted after signing a waiver. You have your own private laundry. It is an all in one washer/dryer that does a great job, but does take a bit longer than a conventional washer and dryer. The good part of it is you can set it and head out for the day and when you come back your clothes will be washed and dried. The main house is occupied by my mother. She is the emergency contact when Cathy or I can't be reached. We live 500' away across the field. We are happy to provide guidance and suggestions for all your vacation needs, however, if seclusion is what you are looking for there is no need to interact with any of us. During Maple Syrup season (March- Mid April) you can schedule with us to come help out in the sugarhouse to make some of your own syrup to take home. Be aware that making syrup is just like farming and is weather dependent. Good communication with us ahead of time will maximize your chances of hitting the right weather and making some of your own syrup. Excellent access to hiking, skiing, swimming, biking and adventure. Fully equipped and ready for your getaway. 15 min to Northfield; 25 minutes to Sugarbush/Mad River Glen; 25 min to Montpelier; 50 min to Stowe; 55 min to Burlington; 55 min to Hanover, NH. Our property is surrounded by thousands of acres state forest for hiking, biking and skiing and is within a 20 min drive to excellent dining in all directions. In the Summer and Fall any vehicle will be fine. we are not within reasonable walking distance to any stores. The biking is good but be aware that the property is approximately 600 vertical feet above the valley/center of town so while the bike ride into town is an easy ride, the return trip is a challenge. The Roxbury Country store is approximately 2.5 miles away. In the Winter and Spring you will need a minimum front wheel drive car with snow tires (not all-seasons). Our roads are maintained very well, but we are in the mountains on unpaved roads, and having an ill-equipped vehicle is an easy way to ruin your visit. Also be aware that the legendary Vermont "Mud Season" is very real from April to early May. Good communication with us will ensure your travel is not disrupted by the muddy roads. We have maps available to help you explore the heart of Vermont's Green Mountains. We are happy to have your dog(s) visit with you (for no extra fee!) as we are dog lovers and owners and know how hard it can be to find nice places that accept dogs. Please do try to keep your dogs off the furniture. YOU MUST LET US KNOW AT THE TIME OF BOOKING THAT YOU ARE BRINGING A DOG(S). Obviously, if you have an aggressive dog towards people or other animals, we prefer that you leave them home or kept on a leash at all times outside the apartment. And finally, if your dog does damage the unit in anyway, you will be financially responsible for that damage. NO OTHER ANIMALS ARE PERMITTED. We are also kid friendly. We have two children ourselves. The unit will comfortably accommodate two adults and two children. A Pack-and-Play is available at no charge as well if you have a very young child. Also an assortment of children's toys and books are available upon request. The sandbox out in the back garden is also available to guests.
