The luxury Granary Court apartment has been recently fully renovated, providing your own sanctuary and accomodation within York's historic city walls with everything you need for a wonderful stay. Located within a secure quiet gated courtyard within York’s conservation area, Granary Court apartment has amazing views of York Minster from every window. It also benefits from being just 1 minute stroll to the iconic Shambles, along with award winning independent restaurants, bars and cafés. A MAXIMUM of 4 guests are permitted within the apartment at ANY TIME during any stay. This is what the property is insured for. Parking a car in York can be challenging but we offer our guests complimentary use of our private gated carpark space which is conveniently located just outside the city walls, just 4 minutes walk from our apartment. We provide ONE space for guests which suitable for ONE car of most sizes. If additional parking is required, we recommend the nearby Shambles Q-park carpark. York is steeped in history and this property has its own dating back to the 1800’s when it was used by Corn Merchants Hurtley Dickinsons & Sons as a Granary. Converted to residential apartments in the late 80’s this property has just undergone a full renovation with all new fixtures, fittings along with tasteful contemporary decoration and luxury furnishings for guests to enjoy. Granary Court - The apartment is located within a quiet secure gated courtyard in the very centre of the historic city of York. The property is accessed via a newly decorated communal area shared only with one other property and is located on the first floor up a short flight of stairs. Please note there is no lift access to the first floor. Bedroom 2 - Benefits from its own en-suite in addition to amazing views of York Minster, a Somnos King size bed (European King/American Queen), luxurious 500 thread count bedding, 43 inch TV with digital & Wifi, roman blind, radiator, one slimline wardrobe with 2 small drawers and full mirrored door, bedside tables with lamps, luggage rack, hairdryer. Ensuite - Beautiful porcelain tiled ensuite bathroom from floor to ceiling with large 1.8m bath, over head shower, WC, wash basin, radiator and led heated mirror. ​ Bathroom 2 - Porcelain tiled shower room from floor to ceiling, large enclosed shower cubical, WC, wash basin, radiator, led heated mirror. Living Room - Large 18’ x 15’ living room with luxury velvet 3 seater sofa, matching snuggler chair and arm chair. Elegant centre crystal chandelier & bronze coffee table. 65 inch Samsung television with 180+ digital channels, wifi access for logging into streaming apps like Netflix, Prime etc. Round marble bar height table with 4 comfortable stools for eating, drinking and socialising. This place is very centrally located in a quiet conservation area and NOISE, PARTIES or EVENTS are STRICTLY NOT permitted. Bookings WILL BE immediately terminated if this house rule is breached. For the safety and security of guests, neighbours and the apartment, CCTV is in operation in both the Granary Courtyard area, the entrance door area and communal staircase. This is required for safety, security and insurance purposes. There is no CCTV within any parts of the apartment or accomodation. The apartment is located on the first floor of a converted granary with just 8 steps to a short landing, then 8 more to the apartment entrance. The communal staircase is only shared with one other apartment and has been newly carpeted with a good strong banister and the steps are not steep. We offer our guests FREE parking and use of our private car park space. Our secure gated parking space which we offer when booking our apartment is conveniently located just outside the York city walls, 4-5 minutes walk from the apartment. The space is suitable for all sizes of cars and for a maximum of one vehicle. If additional car parking is required, we advise guests to use the nearby Shambles Q-park. We meet and greet all guests on arrival at either our private car park space or at our apartment if arriving by train. We provide access codes and keys ensuring that your arrival is completely hassle free. *** All bedsheets and towels are carefully laundered in Non Biological washing powder and Lenor Spring Awakening fabric softener. If you have problems with this or and specific any allergies and you must notify us at least 7 days in advance of your stay. *** Guest access The apartment is located on the first floor of a converted granary with just 8 steps to a short landing, then 8 more to the apartment entrance. We do not charge an additional cleaning fee like most places. We clean and manage the apartment ourselves to ensure it is prepared to the right standard. You are requested to leave the apartment as your find it to avoid additional charges after departure. This place is very centrally located in a VERY quiet conservation area. Noise, parties or events are STRICTLY not permitted. The apartment is insured for a MAXIMUM of 4 guests AT ALL TIMES and additional guests are not permitted in the apartment - the 4 guests includes children and infants. No groups, 2 couples or one family max 4 guests. Bookings will be immediately terminated if these house rules are breached and you will need to depart and find alternative accommodation. Additional rules PLEASE ENSURE YOU READ CAREFULLY THESE HOUSE RULES BEFORE BOOKING OR REQUESTING TO BOOK: No parties, No groups, No Noise , No events and e.g. Stag or hen parties, Birthday parties etc. These are STRICTLY NOT permitted and the reservation will be immediately terminated if this rule is breached. This means you will have to leave and find alternative accommodation. We meet and greet ALL guests upon arrival. This is an apartment for respectful people who are looking for a quiet, relaxing stay ABSOLUTELY NOT for groups who are just intending to drink and party. GROUPS ARE STRICTLY NOT PERMITTED. Quiet hours in and around the apartment and courtyard (11pm until 7am) must be respected or we will immediately terminate the booking. If you are visiting York for culture and enjoying a quiet stay, our apartment is very suitable for you. If you plan very late nights, frequently exiting the apartment to smoke, this is absolutely the WRONG place for you to book. We accept bookings for a single family or 2 couples. MAXIMUM 4 guests at all times in the apartment. We live next to the apartment. • Strictly NO smoking (including e-cigarettes) ANYWHERE in the apartment, also the communal areas, staircase or residential courtyard. • Strictly no NOISE at any time of the day. Our apartment has been designed for a quiet relaxing stay in a protected conservation area of York. Our lovely neighbours above, to the side and opposite must be respected by ensuring no noise is audible outside of the apartment. If your group intend to make noise, or you think they will, sadly this is the wrong apartment for you. • NO PETS at all permitted in the apartment, the communal areas or the courtyard. Pets are strictly not permitted in either the Granary Court courtyard, communal area or apartment under the terms of our lease. • Strictly MAXIMUM of 4 guests in the apartment at all times sleeping ONLY in the 2 bedroom beds only. We DO NOT permit or consent to the sofa being used as an additional bed. We will terminate the reservation immediately if this rule is breached. We are insured for ONLY 4 people in the apartment at all times. • Guests MUST take care of the apartment and leave it at the end of the rental period as they found it after their stay for other guests to enjoy too. We do not charge an additional cleaning fee like most places but if the apartment is not left tidy, a payment invoice will be sent to your account via Airbnb to cover cleaning costs after your stay. • Damage – Any damage to any items including sofas, tables, floors and walls will be charged to the main guest who made the reservation after the stay. This will be processed through Airbnb who will reclaim this from you. • Kitchen – Chopping boards provided MUST be used when using any of the sharp knives. NO hot pans must be placed directly on the kitchen worktop. • Washing machine – No clothing clothing dyes are permitted to be used in the washing machine. • Furniture – Please do not move or re-locate any of the furniture at any point in any room within the apartment to avoid damage to the floors. • For safety and the environment, windows must be closed and all the lights, mirrors and lamps are switched off when you leave the apartment. • For your own safety, anti-slip bathmats provided in the bathroom and shower room must be used. • For stays of 21 days or more, we reserve the right to agree inspection & cleaning check visits to ensure house rules are adhered to. • We always meet and greet all guests at either our secure gated parking space just outside the city walls or at our apartment to provide access codes, hand over the keys and ensure your check in is completely hassle free. • You are responsible for taking out appropriate travel insurance in the unfortunate event you need to cancel for any reason at all. We do appreciate all kinds of reasons for needing to change or cancel a reservation and sympathetic to this. However, this is why we STRONGLY recommend your have your own travel insurance which also covers you if you needed to either cancel or change your dates. We would ONLY consider a change of dates request made at least 90 days before your reservation. The cancellation policy you agree to when booking: Please note that if you are booking, the cancellation policy you have agreed to allows guests to receive a full refund if they cancel within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 days before a listing's check-in time. In the event of a cancellation within 48 hours, you are ONLY entitled to 50% refund, regardless of how far out the check-in date is. A 50% refund will also be given by Airbnb if the cancellation takes place at least seven days prior to the booking date. This does not include the Airbnb service fee paid to Airbnb not hosts. Refunds are not available if you cancel less than 7 days prior to the arrival date. - Please note that any payments made are made to Airbnb and hosts do not receive any payments until 5 working days after your check in time.
