Prime location, adjacent to Minnewasksa State Park and directly across the street from Mohonk Preserve. This 23-acre PRIVATE compound is peaceful & serene; 90 Minutes from NYC. Gorgeous sunrise views to stargazing delight. Walk from this property to Minnewaska Falls, world class mountain climbing, hiking, biking, swimming and more. Bike and E-bike rentals available for registered guests. Reconnect to yourself, family and friends, in comfort, while experiencing living off the grid. The cabin has an open floor plan - like a big tent! First Floor Layout: Living room, well equipped kitchen and dining area; a propane fireplace for chilly nights, and a comfy full-size bed. It also has a full indoor bathroom with flushing toilet, sink and walk in shower with plenty of hot water. Our cozy propane fueled fireplace keeps the cabin toasty warm in cold weather. There are two sleeping lofts upstairs: One loft has a king size bed; the other loft has a queen size bed. Solar fans in the lofts keep air flowing on warm nights. You must climb a ladder to get into the lofts and, fair warning, the ceiling height is pitched to the shape of the roof and low. All sleeping areas have their own solar powered cell phone charging ports and a solar powered light. In addition to indoor bathroom facilities, we happen to love our outdoor hot shower and outhouse. They are private from each other but they are well constructed and have that amazing Mountain View! The custom built outhouse operates on a septic system and it has a beautiful sink with running hot/cold water. The kitchen is complete with a commercial stove/oven and sink with hot/cold running water, a full-size fridge/freezer (powered by propane,) pots and pans, dishes, silverware and glassware, as well as basics i.e. salt, pepper, spices, etc. Three covered decks mean - rain or shine - we've got you covered. We have a covered front porch and a large covered back porch that overlooks the mountain range; while giving you shade from the morning sun. The back porch includes a gas grill and a large outdoor dining table area. The canopy allows you protection from the sun and rain so you can relax, enjoy and continue to restore and recharge yourself in almost any type of weather. Texasville, is a detached covered pavilion, with comfort seating , dining table and a wood burning fire pit. It's cozy and comfy where you can enjoy morning coffee, napping, talking or playing games and music. Enjoy this as shelter from the sun or rain - or just to sneak away for a bit! The outdoor fire pit is the focal point of many great evenings of reflection, laughter and songs. For those who prefer to pitch a tent - there are two tent platforms tucked - apart from each other - along the tree line - or, feel free to keep your tent up close to the cabin. Early risers - keep your camera ready - as the sunrise can be an exciting and spectacular view from our vantage point. Enjoy your time here doing anything - or nothing. People find this spot a healing place for the mind and soul, as you remove yourself from your routine. Watch and listen to the birds. Read a book. Go for a hike or a bike. Nap. Our property is situated adjacent to both Minnewaska State Park and the Mohonk Preserve trail systems, both accessible just 400 feet from our driveway. There is no need to drive and park to access either trail. CONNECT with FAMILY & FRIENDS! There is just no better place. Bring plenty of good food, musical instruments (everyone loves guitar music around the campfire!) or a portable Bluetooth speaker. Upon arrival kids (and adults) may wonder what will they possibly do up here on this mountain? But miraculously, in a short bit of time, everyone unwinds, exploring the area, looking for frogs and salamanders in the pond, roasting marshmallows over the campfire and spending quality time. Reset your brain and body and give yourself your undivided attention; you deserve it. GLAMPING IN THE GUNKS - Privacy; mountain views; peace and serenity. Guest Accommodations Include: Fresh linens, blankets and towels, toilet paper and paper towels, dishes/glassware, dish soap/sponges, pots and pans, etc. and many routine cabinet items (salt, pepper, spices, etc.) Also Included with your stay: Propane grill (propane provided,) outdoor solar lights, ample split and stacked firewood, on-site parking, WIFI is possible in the cabin - but if you need a strong connection, you can plug in at our WIFI seating area at the street level area outside of our barn. Bike rentals (Regular & E-Bikes) available. Please inquire with any questions you may have. Thank you! Additional photos on FB and the Gram under Glampinginthegunks. Look for our barn and red garage on the right side of the road with a read lions head mounted on a rock, with the number 112 below it. Pull in the driveway and continue 600' up the driveway to the top of the mountain. Upon your arrival, please make yourself at home in the cabin and have a look around. We will come up to show you how everything works and answer any additional questions. We will be available to you as much as you need or as little as you want. We stay in our barn apartment at the bottom of the property. The spaces are completely separate and private from each other. We will help you get acquainted with the cabin and all amenities. Although we love to socialize we realize it's very possible that is not why you are here - so we will take our cues from you. :) The Glampsite is located on a quiet dead end road, nestled between the 22,000 acre Minnewaska state park preserve and the Mohonk preserve, offering 8,000 acres of cliffs, forests, fields, ponds and streams. Both park trails are a short walk from our driveway. Glamping In The Gunks is a mountain climber, mountain biker and hikers delight, with many comforts of home; including off the grid lighting, heating, fans, and fresh clean water for drinking and showering. Our mountaintop retreat is private - no other people in sight - with a wonderful view of the mountain range. Please note: Holiday weekends are a (3) night minimum. Access Minnewaska state park, on foot or by mountain bike, as well as the Mohonk trail system, right down the street from our driveway. No need to pay extra for parking at the park entrance lots. The trail system is well maintained and is easy for walking, running, bike rides or pushing a jogger stroller. Our location is walking distance to Minnewaska Falls. NEW in 2023 - Mountain Bikes and E-Bike rentals available. Go further! See more of the natural beauty in the park. WIFI - There is 5G service at the entrance to the property. The cabin is off the grid, but you can usually text from the cabin. There is an "internet space" with seating in front of the barn, a place to plug in and recharge. Zoom meetings and any other work you may need to do is easily done at the entrance level of the property. The cabin has charging ports in the kitchen as well as next to each bed. there are solar powered fans in each sleeping area. PRO TIP: Bring your food with you. You will be 9-10 miles from town, and you will not want to leave to go shopping once you get up here. You will want to bring at the very least, dinner and breakfast and even lunch with you. If you are not into Grilling and Chilling, there are excellent restaurants in all directions from our cabin.
