The space The Place My home is in a beautiful residential area with tree-lined streets and a small park studded with ancient oak trees. The area is relatively flat with some gentle hills that are easy for biking and walking. It is safe and quiet here, and my guests love the us convenience of parking in front of the house with easy access to all things wine country. The first thing you see when approaching the house is the colorful garden leading to the front door. The natural light is beautiful inside. The living and family rooms with cathedral ceilings feature comfortable traditional furnishings and gas fireplaces, ideal for cozying up with a good book no matter the season! At the end of the day, enjoy a quiet night's sleep in your private bedroom with a Stearns & Foster queen mattress and luxurious down comforter and linens! The Location Located between the Sonoma Plaza and the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn, there is plenty to see and do nearby! Get your blood pumping with a morning walk at Maxwell Farms Regional Park or The Path away from traffic. Sip some java at Barking Dog Roasters. Browse the handful of local thrift shops. Catch a flick at Sonoma Cinemas next door. You can walk to the movie theater just steps from my house or to dinner at the best neighborhood Mexican restaurants - El Molino Central or Taqueria La Hacienda. Get a spa treatment at the luxury 5-star Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn and Spa which is a couple of blocks away. The historical Sonoma Plaza is within walking distance less than 2 miles away. Enjoy breakfast on the patio at the Sunflower Cafe Espresso & Wine Bar or join the locals at Basque Boulangerie Cafe. Just minutes from my house you have convenient access to sights, wineries, spas, hiking and biking trails, Sonoma County Cheese trails, retail shops, restaurants, regional parks, cultural events and performances. I may have a last minute opening and be able to accommodate you or give you a referral to other hosts. Monthly rental is available upon request with the option of just renting a room or whole house. Please ask about rates which include all utilities, internet and TV, gardening, and garbage pick up. I provide maid service twice per month for long-term, whole house guests. I love to share my art collection, my garden, my cooking and food testing for my cookbook, my runs to the farmer's market, and my knowledge of Marin and Sonoma County. As a local, I can help you get the most out of a short visit to the wine country and California. I am a Californian, have lived in Sonoma for the past 18 years, and have explored every nook and cranny of this area and the state. As a former sales and marketing executive with Panasonic, I traveled much of the world for business and pleasure. It is fun sharing my favorite places with you and learning about your travels and interests. It is my joy to tell you all about our wine country culture, our farm to table lifestyle cooking and the best of Sonoma. My home features luxury bath products (bath gels, shampoo and conditioner, body creams, hairspray, toothpaste and brushes, hair dryer, and the safety products recommended by Airbnb: Home First Aid Kit, Emergency Safety Card, Smoke and CO Detector. I am required to collect a Transient Occupancy Tax, or ‘bed tax', under State Revenue and Taxation Code Section 7280. This tax is levied at a rate of 9% in Sonoma County and is a revenue used by the local government. This is included in my room rate for guests staying less than 30 days.
