This loft apartment is nestled right in the heart of downtown Little Current. Overlooking the North Channel waterway, with a great view of the swing bridge, right across from the Anchor Inn restaurant and 5 minutes from the grocery store, this apartment boasts one of the best locations and views on Manitoulin Island. Absolutely no pets. NON NEGOTIABLE The space 2022 UPGRADES! We are constantly improving this space to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Winter of 2022 renos have included fully upgrading all trim and moldings to clear oak. Both staircases were also replaced with oak and the apartment wall fully repainted top to bottom. This round of renos also saw a new gas fireplace installed in the great room to make this space warm and cozy all year long. This bright and spacious apartment is on the main dock of the Port of Little Current. Watch boats and cruise ships pass through and dock right outside the door. Guests that wish to bring their own boat will find dockage for it in the marina right outside the door! In the winter, this is one of the few places around you can still look out and see open water! Located in a historic century old commercial building, the residential unit is located above and up a flight of stairs (8 steps up to the deck, another 13 steps up to the apartment) which makes for extraordinary views of the main wharf, swing bridge and North Channel from the outdoor deck area. The apartment has been renovated throughout and boasts oak flooring and cathedral ceilings in the main living areas. The single large bathroom was completely renovated in fall of 2020 with spacious new tile shower. The bedroom configuration has two 12’ x 12’ bedrooms on the main floor. The main bedroom has a king bed while the second is queen. Up a new oak staircase you will find a 20’ x 8’ loft area with a double bed. This space is long and narrow. The ceiling is sloped so it is only possible to stand in the center of the room. A powerful new “mesh” wifi system was also installed which blankets the space in seamless wifi through multiple wireless points in the building. This apartment faces directly onto the North Channel of Lake Huron placing you right on top of the main waterfront of the downtown. The back of the building faces the main street which is at times lively and can produce noise later into the evening due to the pub directly across the road adjacent to the apartment. While noise has rarely been an issue, it can occur and is usually brief and on the weekends. The apartment otherwise is remarkably quiet and does not feel as though it is downtown. No pets. This is non negotiable.
