The space Welcome to our charming Cherokee Park duplex, built at the turn of the 20th century, offering the perfect blend of vintage character and modern amenities. The private upstairs guest suite features a separate entrance for your convenience, a fully equipped kitchen, and a private bath, providing you with a comfortable and independent stay. The suite is equipped with two queen beds, a full-size futon, a twin XL, and a twin-sized daybed with a twin trundle, offering ample sleeping arrangements for groups or families. Whether you’re staying for a short visit or an extended trip, there’s plenty of space to relax and feel at home. Situated in a peaceful, historic neighborhood, you’ll be just a short walk from the beautiful Cherokee Park, renowned local dining, and stunning architecture. Whether you're here to explore the vibrant neighborhood, enjoy the park, or simply relax in your cozy retreat, this suite offers the ideal base for your stay in Louisville. We hope you feel comfortable knowing that we are there for you as our guest and want you to have a great time in Louisville! Our guests have been perfect... always taking great care while staying in our home, and we appreciate it! We just love meeting new people! There are a few drawers or doors that are owner items. Most are not locked, but we appreciate your respecting our space. Please feel free to message me about any specific requirements or questions you may have, and I will be happy to assist. I am available to meet you upon check-in to ensure you can get into the house, and I am happy to run through the entire home with you. However, most items that I think people have questions about are either in my description or can be addressed via a quick call. I will check in periodically to ensure you are comfortable and everything is functioning well, but you generally won’t hear from me unless there’s something to address. Please let me know if anything doesn’t seem right or isn’t working properly. It is an old house, and there’s always something that needs attention! Other things to note This is a duplex and we also rent out the downstairs unit which is accessed only from the outside. Please expect to hear people downstairs. They will not need to go into the upstairs part of the home to access their unit. If you are renting or bringing a vehicle please let us know. The driveway and back yard are for the downstairs guests, but we can help you with your parking arrangements. You can also rent this as a full duplex thereby doubling the capacity! Message me for details! Parking: Very Important: Please message me with the number and size of the vehicles you’ll be using, so I can make sure everything is arranged accordingly. We are licensed to allow one vehicle to park on the street. When parking on the street, please ensure you park in the direction of traffic flow and, if possible, fold in your side mirrors to ensure the safety of your vehicle. Please also make sure to keep the sidewalks and driveways clear, as this is an important consideration in our neighborhood. While there is parking available, many of our guests prefer to Uber to our home since we're only 3 miles from the airport, and there are plenty of things within walking distance. Additionally, if you're traveling with a larger group, some bourbon buses pick up directly from our house, making it a convenient and hassle-free option for those embarking on the Bourbon Trail. House Rules: We ask that guests respect the quiet hours in the neighborhood, especially in the evenings, as this is a residential area. For your comfort and cleanliness of the home, we do ask that shoes be removed when entering. We have light carpets and hand wash our floors regularly, so we appreciate your cooperation in keeping them clean. Additionally, we kindly request that no open flames (such as candles or cooking with open flame) be used, and we do not allow high-fat meats, like bacon, to be cooked in the home. Temperature Control: This is an older home, so the heating and cooling systems may work a bit differently than newer homes. The upstairs can get a little warmer or cooler depending on the season. Please let me know if you have any questions about how to adjust temperatures. We are very excited to be one of the few homes left in the Louisville area that still houses a boiler system. She sits on a pedestal in the basement! Wi-Fi and Entertainment: The home is equipped with Wi-Fi, and we offer a range of entertainment options including streaming services and the large 85" TV in the basement. Feel free to reach out if you have trouble accessing any of these services. Housekeeping and Linens: Fresh linens, towels, and toiletries are provided for your stay. I take great care in ensuring all linens are perfectly pressed using a 1940s IronRite ironing machine, which gives them a classic, crisp finish. If you need anything additional or have special requests, please don't hesitate to ask. Repairs and Maintenance: As this is a working home, occasional repairs may be made to parts of the home during regular working hours. We strive to minimize disruptions, but please be aware that some maintenance may occur during your stay.
