Valentine Retreat

My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and small families. Set in town on 1/2 acre, the house is 1250 square feet indoors, with additional covered 300 sq feet under porches. Outdoor fireplace is fabulous at night, morning sunrises on the porch are even better. Valentine is extremely quiet with only 150 residents. The 1920 adobe house was completely rebuilt in 2010 and is very comfortable with high quality furnishings, fully functional kitchen and a large bathroom. The space House is equipped fully with cooking and dining utensils, linens, firewood, heaters in each room during the winter, window air conditioning, city water and sewer, parking room for RV, and is five minutes from Prada Marfa and 35 miles from downtown Marfa. The house is safe for kids over three years of age. The 55" TV is an Internet TV and our internet in Valentine is fast enough to watch most on demand services such as Netflix and Amazon video. My Amazon video subscription is included in the rental. There's also a DVD player and many DVDs in the house as well as a large record collection and a good turntable. NPR affiliate Marfa Public Radio is the primary terrestrial news source. The outdoor fireplace come with provided firewood. Guests are welcome to BBQ in the two on site smokers. There are two outdoor seating areas connected to the house. The train is several blocks away from the house but the house, being adobe, blocks out nearly all of the noise from the train when it passes. Guest access Guests can use anything in the house. Other things to note Valentine has no stores, not even a gas station. Food, ice and anything else will need to be brought in from Marfa, Van Horn or elsewhere. Quietest town in Texas. Lastly, the second bedroom is without a door and opens into the living room, like an old border ranch house (which is what the house is). The master bedroom has complete privacy and a door that also opens to the porch outside. There's a long couch in the living room which can be used to sleep on as well, in case you have visitors who need to stay over.
