Self-contained Nature retreat
Description
Mill Cottage is a beautiful, characterful country home surrounded by stunning Perthshire countryside. Our cottage is part of a small hamlet of three historic mill buildings dating from the 1800's, just a short walk along the banks of the River Ardle to Kirkmichael village where there is a friendly community shop and pub. Our garden is a haven for wildlife with regular visits from red squirrels, deer, many native birds and occasionally otters. The space Our cottage is located at the end of a track that runs parallel to the River Ardle, a few hundred metres from Kirkmichael centre. The house sits on 4 acres of land beside the River Ardle, so do bring your rod if you would like to try your luck! The land is mostly used to indulge our passion for growing vegetables and creating wildlife friendly habitat. It is a peaceful and calming place to be and at night the only sounds you will hear are the river rushing by and the haunting calls of our resident owls. On a clear evening the stars are also truly out of this world! Your room is a private annex and has a comfortable king sized bed, en-suite with shower and your own separate entrance. The room has uninterrupted views out to the garden and if you are lucky you may see red squirrels and deer as well as the many different species of birds that call our garden home. Other things to note We provide a continental breakfast which will usually include a selection of cereals, homemade bread, fresh fruit and yogurt. There are tea and coffee making facilities available in the room. Provisional short term let licence number: FS-case-535034526
