Urban Bliss in the Creative Heart of Cape Town
Urban Bliss in the Creative Heart of Cape Town
Description
This rare one-bed with west-facing balcony in the iconic WEX1 building in trendy Woodstock is the perfect base to explore the funkier side of South Africa’s Mother City. Opened in 2019, WEX1 was rapidly recognised a landmark in Woodstock, and has become highly sought-after place to stay, offering an amazing range of hotel-style features – concierge, bar, lounge, restaurant, pool deck, gym, laundry – as well as amazing mountain, sea and city views. The space The 53-metre apartment is the epitome of urban chic and features a beautiful balcony commanding amazing views, sweeping from Table Mountain, Lion’s Head and Signal Hill, across the city centre to the docks and the Royal Yacht Club. The spacious living area includes a kitchen equipped with oven, stove, microwave, fridge, a big-screen TV and uncapped WiFi. Guest access WEX1 offers residents an incredible communal lounge area with a bar opening out onto a pool deck with amazing views of Signal Hill, the city centre, and the harbour. This comfortable, cosy area is perfect place to get an evening drink, charge up your phone or laptop, and get online to catch up with friends and family. Great for a game of pool or foosball too! But the building has so much more to offer! On the ground floor is a Spar supermarket with great fresh food section and an ATM, a Tops bottle store, a barista-manned coffee bar, Simply Asia restaurant, organic falafel takeaway, and a Darling Brew craft beer outlet and restaurant. The building’s security is topnotch, with a 24-hour concierge service and electronic tag access-control to all residents-only areas. There’s a laundromat on the first floor as well. Other things to note LOAD-SHEDDING (CONTROLLED POWER CUTS) Unfortunately South Africa is undergoing intermittent controlled power outages to reduce the load on the national electricity grid. During these periods, typically two hours at a time, the generators in WEX1 will keep the lifts / elevators working and will keep the lights on in the common areas of the building, but there will be no lights or power inside the apartment. Candles and a battery-operated torch will be available for your use during these periods. One good thing is that the WiFi will still work - so if you keep your laptop, smartphone or tablet charged up, you will still be able to stay online. And enjoy the magnificent sunsets from the balcony!
