Description

Tin Valley Retro Rentals has 90 private acres of "glamping" campsites nestled in the foothills of surrounding mountains. Perfect for stargazing, birding, hiking, ATV/ & jeep touring. Located near the Rio Grande, Big Bend National & State Park, for canoeing/kayaking/rafting. Families, solo travelers, couples, photographers, weddings, welcomed. Pet Friendly! Tin Valley was featured on Nat Geo’s documentary show “Badlands, Texas, and has caught the attention of travelers all over the world. Guest access Property is: *35 miles to Terlingua, Terlingua Ghost Town, Study Butte, and to the front entrance of Big Bend National Park. *5 miles to the back entrance of Big Bend National Park, but high clearance and/or 4-wheel drive is needed for this route. *4 miles to Terlingua Ranch Lodge, (available to you) which has a swimming pool, full service restaurant, shower house, and laundry facility. *20 miles to the closest grocery store. *35 miles to the closest gas station. Other things to note This is a CLOTHING OPTIONAL campsite. It is far enough away from other campsites that you will not have to worry about others seeing you. Here are a few more things to know when you arrive to Tin Valley Retro Rentals. *Tip to starting a good fire: Start small and ONLY add once the fire grows. Too much too soon will only give you smoke! And do NOT stack wood on top of one another! It will never start. The key to a good fire is to stack the wood like a tipi, with enough fire starter in the middle to get a small fire going. The flame from the fire starter will ignite the wood circled around it. Once that wood is burning you can then keep adding additional wood for a great, long lasting fire. (Dead cactus and/or small twigs are great fire starters, if you need assistance.) When you leave your campsite/RV please check for kitties inside, as they tend to sneak in and hide...And PLEASE check the top of your vehicles before you drive off. I seem to have a kitty that enjoys hanging out on car roofs and has “roof surfed” out of here twice already! Lol! His name was just “Stubb’s,” but he is now known as “Stubb’s the Roof-Top Kitty Surfer.” Thanks! During your stay I would like to invite you to help build something very special here at Tin Valley Retro Rentals. I have added paint & brushes to your campsite. You can pick your own special rock from anywhere on the property, including the mountain, and then paint something special on it. Be sure to include your name and date and then pick your spot of where you want to leave it. (To keep the brushes lasting please wash the paint out after using...thank you!) Due to recent events, we are kindly asking guests to keep Tin Valley a political free zone. Any political, offensive, hateful or vulgar writing/painting left behind will be considered vandalism and will be reported to local authorities as well subject to a fee for damages. Thank you for helping us keep Tin Valley a place of peace and positivity. And final thing; If you have extra pennies or other coins, I would love for you to throw them around your campground. Copper is good energy for the property...AND is just another quirky fun thing to do. :) Look forward to your visit! Ronda
