Lupine Seaside Cottage

Rustic, self-catering cottage built over a hundred years ago, situated on bluff above Moosabec Reach. Perfect for a couple or solo adventurer. Watch the working lobster boats, read, paint or take an easy drive to National parks, blueberry fields or ice cream. Located in fishing village across from small library, down from marina & historic society. The space The cottage is over 100 years old and has that vintage atmosphere. Each year we work to make it even lovelier. It has stood up to many storms and even a couple hurricanes. The roof is new, as is the water heater and the bathroom with a waterfall shower head and great water pressure. Please note that clean sheets are left folded on the bed for you to make. Also, this property allows pets, so if you have an allergy, it may not be suitable for you. The ceiling in the cottage is modeled, not from leaks but from time. Jonesport is a lobster fishing village, not a tourist town like Bar Harbor. Please be aware of where you are renting before you request a reservation. Guest access Parking is located to the right in designated area on the property. Do not park directly behind the cottage as this is where the leach field sits. One must walk through uneven grass from the parking area and go up 3-4 steps to enter the cottage. It is not accessible to people with difficulty walking. Other things to note The cottages are located on a bank above the shoreline. Moosabec Reach is a working lobster boat harbor. The shore/beach is perfect for hunting for sea glass, discovering things that wash ashore and watching for seals and eagles, not for swimming or playing in the sand. Water is very cold. Tides are about 15 feet, so shore looks very different between high and low tides. The Lupine Cottage is rustic with a very small bathroom. Everything works, but is small. The perfect place to get away and enjoy the outdoors of Maine. The property is completely non-smoking, both inside and outside the cottage. A penalty of $100 will be charged if the cottage smells like smoke.
