Description

Bright and sunny, this second floor, private studio apartment, set next to Cape Town's historical Company's Garden, is a study in effortless urban living and an ideal inner city retreat from which to enjoy and explore the best Cape Town has to offer — innumerable restaurants, lively bars, relaxed cafés, museums, galleries and an array of outdoor activities. The space This stylish apartment is located in the iconic Bauhaus building, St Martini Gardens, in the centre of Cape Town. The building has 24h security controlled access, a shared pool, a communal garden, fully irrigated by Table Mountain streams, and a self-service launderette. Free WiFi and Netflix is available in the apartment, as is a compact kitchen, well suited to travellers who enjoy cooking simple meals, but who still want to explore Cape Town's culinary hotspots. Please also note that the king size bed can be set up as two single beds, on request. In accordance with the building's guidelines, this studio has a maximum occupancy of 2 people — this includes infants and children. A fine of R1000 per person, per night, will be imposed for overcrowding. Guest access As guests, you will have complete access to the entire apartment and access to all amenities offered by the apartment complex, like the lush gardens and pool. Other things to note Please note that this apartment uses a self check-in service. All guests are required to provide us with a copy of their identity document, or passport, and their primary email address, prior to arrival, as sufficient arrangements need to be made with the apartment complex security, before access can be given to the apartment's lock box. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This studio is in an apartment building so it is reasonable to expect some level of noise associated with staying in an apartment building - construction, renovation, other guests and tenants etc. This studio is also in a major capital city so it is reasonable to expect some level of noise associated with living / staying in a capital city - road noises, street noises etc. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ For our guests staying longer than a week, we offer the following cleaning services: We can supply two sets of linen and towels in the apartment for you, as we have a self-service laundrette in the building that you are welcome to use. Alternatively, we can exchange the linen and towels for you when ever you would like for 200 ZAR cash. We can also offer a full apartment turn over service - changing the linen, towels and a general clean - this is charged at 400 ZAR cash. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This unit doesn't come with a dedicated parking bay. There is however, unreserved on street parking available along Queen Victoria Street (fees apply during standard office hours), or there is paid, secure parking at the Interpark facility attached to the The Capital 15 on Orange hotel— this parking facility is 180m away from the apartment complex, roughly a 2 or 3 minute walk. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ South Africa often experiences load-shedding - the electricity supply is turned off by the national supplier (Eskom), suburbs at a time, due to breakdowns, shortages and increased demand. Depending on the level that Eskom sets, load-shedding can happen in set periods, between one and three times a day, averaging out at about 2 hours at a time. During load-shedding, the common areas and lifts will be functional and operable, as the apartment complex is fully equipped with solar panels. The apartment however won't have power during these outages. We have supplied emergency lights in the unit that will see you through these dark times. We have also supplied a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) device in the apartment that will keep the WiFi on while the electricity is out. Use EskomSePush to keep up to date with the schedule
