Rose cottage on the peaceful solway coast..
Description
The cottage is of a traditional Cumbrian style. Comfortable, clean, and charming but with all your homely needs including a smart TV and wifi. The cosy sitting-room has a new Clearview Stove. There is a separate well-equipped kitchen/diner with dishwasher & microwave to make life easier and a Nespresso machine. The delightful garden opposite is a sunny and private haven where you can sit and read by day or watch the amazing stars at night. One well behaved dog by arrangement and small fee. The space This is a place to rest and unwind. To pass through too quickly and you will miss the quirkiness of this little corner of the Northern frontier of the Roman Empire. The Haaf netters fishermen using an ancient and unique netting technique. Salt marshes where the sheep and cattle roam freely are on the doorstep. Historical remains of the old harbour and dock at "Port". Watching the tide come in and shift the wading birds gently. The friendliness and the dry humour of we nutty Northerners. You wont be sorry. Guest access Guests have use the whole of the house apart from a store room to the back of the house. There a hook for wet coats in the porch and space to hang dry coats and store boots in a walk-in under stairs area. Other things to note Cars can be loaded and unloaded directly outside the house and then please move them asap as the road is used by a few other households. Go back up the track towards the main road once you get to the tarmac turn left, tuck in, and park just there, facing West. Shops are very limited. Absolute basics at the Glendale park (entrance 1 mile East of village) or in Pub shop in Bowness (1 mile West) I supply a small amount of tea/coffee/sugar and a carton of milk but strongly advise you BRING EVEYTHING ELSE YOU NEED for food and drinks. There are undercounter fridge and separate freezer. Tesco off junction 42 and Asda off junction 44 of the M6. There are taxis which must be booked in advance from Carlisle. There are a few buses a day to Carlisle. A bike is a great asset here for exploration and it is flat.
