Romantic eco retreat

A beautiful and luxurious eco house set in the tranquil village of Taucho, on the island of Tenerife. The space Finca Dahlia is an eco retreat designed for guests who love nature, tranquillity, and breathtaking views. We are located high above the coast in a peaceful mountain village, reached by a comfortable but winding road that we believe is more than worth it for the scenery. There is a restaurant within walking distance, but no shops or public transport nearby. If you’re looking for hustle and bustle or easy town access, this may not be the right fit. If, however, you value calm, starry skies, fresh air, and slowing down in nature, you’ll feel right at home here. Taucho is a small, picturesque village in the district of Adeje, a world away from the mass tourism of the coastal resorts. Taucho possesses an unspoilt charm with its traditional Canarian architecture and quaint streets, making it the ideal location for a peaceful retreat. Its elevated position of approximately 850 m above sea level, gives the cottage and garden breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, coast and neighbouring islands. On the doorstep are numerous hiking routes set within a beautifully rugged landscape, ideal for birdwatching, drawing and painting. Paragliding is also available in the near vicinity. The nearest beach is a twenty minute drive and Tenerife Sur Airport a thirty minute drive from the cottage. Finca Dahlia is a spacious, eco-friendly cottage that combines modern luxury with a unique holiday experience. The cottage is self-contained with its own private entrance and free adjacent parking. It has recently been thoughtfully refurbished to a high standard, with its original wooden beams lovingly restored and sustainable, natural or upcycled materials used where possible throughout. The bright and airy main living area, with its open aspect and skylight, consists of a king size bed and a free-standing bath that offers beautiful views of the coast by day and the sunset and starry sky by night. There is also an efficient log burner for cosy winter nights with a bottle of wine. Finca Dahlia is rented out fully equipped for your stay. The main area consists of a sofa, dining table and chairs. The kitchen area has a cooker with 4 hotplates, oven and grill and the fridge has a small freezer. Tap water in the municipality of Adeje is safe to drink but you may prefer the taste of bottled water. Tea, coffee and basic cooking ingredients such as salt, pepper, oil and herbs are provided. The bathroom has a full shower, wash basin and dry (compost) toilet. There is storage space for luggage and walking equipment. The cottage has a private garden with incredible views. There is another table with seating and a parasol here. Just beneath the cottage is a large decked area with pond, firepit more seating plus access to the orchard. Other things to note In an effort to save water and prevent the use of harmful chemicals we have installed a waterless compost toilet in the bathroom. High quality personal care products such as soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided as are cleaning products. They are vegan, cruelty free and biodegradable. As all grey water is used to irrigate the orchard and ornamental gardens this is very important. Recycled toilet paper is also provided. There are no shops in Taucho. The nearest supermarket is a 15 minute drive.
