Cincinnati, Reds, Bengals, FC Cincinnati The space Spotless, cheerful, inspiring! Our 3-story property was built in 1865 by Casper Otten, an immigrant and cigar maker from Hanover Germany who ran his business on the first floor and lived on the upper two with his family. Fast forward 150+ years and the blueprint is much the same - retail business on the ground level, and two Airbnb’s above. Our second-floor deluxe suite sleeps five and our chic third-floor penthouse suite sleeps four. Both apartments offer 1,100 sq. ft. of living space and can be reserved together for parties of up to 9 guests. Private parking, a laundry area and coffees, teas and breakfast foods are also provided. Our MainStrasse Village neighborhood is very friendly and walkable with historic 1800’s architecture, tree lined streets and plenty of green space. With three dozen restaurants, pubs and taverns in and about the Village - and an occasional festival thrown in just because we can - MainStrasse is known for having a popular nightlife. It's all part of what makes this such a vibrant community and the Casper Otten House sits right in the middle of it all. The Casper Otten House offers perfect accommodations for business and vacation travelers alike and our convenient and easily accessible location can't be beat. Walk to Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds games, Covington’s Braxton Brewery, the Madison Event Center, and the Northern Kentucky Convention Center. Our central location offers easy access as well to area attractions including: downtown Cincinnati, the Cincinnati Zoo, The Ark & Creation Museum, Smale Riverfront Park, and Newport on the Levee. Mass transit, Uber, Lyft, Redbike and scooters are available. Guest access Our Penthouse Suite Airbnb runs the entire length of the building’s third floor and totals 1,100 sq.ft. The sprawling space is decorated in mid-century modern decor and includes a large master bedroom with queen size bed, sitting area, walk-in closet and private office; a second bedroom with two twin beds; one full bathroom with bathtub/shower, lush towels, robes and toiletries; and a large living area with open-floor plan that includes a living room with 55” smart TV and wine bar, a dining area, and a large fully stocked kitchen featuring a nice selection of coffees, teas and breakfast foods. A washer & dryer with laundry supplies is located just off the first floor entry and available complimentary for both our second floor and third floor Airbnb guests. Other things to note FOR LARGER GROUPS UP TO 9 Both of the Airbnbs at the Casper Otten House are available to reserve together for groups of up to 9 guests. Although each apartment is a separate unit all of its own, both units share the same entrance from the outside as well as a common stairway, and the entrance to both apartments is on the second floor landing. Combined, they offer 4 bedrooms, seven beds, two bathrooms, three living rooms and two kitchens. COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST FOODS We provide breakfast foods included a nice selection of coffees and teas to choose from, as well as muffins, yogurts, breakfast bars, bottled water and more. You'll find the kitchen fully stocked with pots, pans and utensils, should you wish to prepare your meals. There is also a coffee shop and a Japanese bakery cafe nearby. Several nearby restaurants in MainStrasse also serve breakfast as well. LOCALLY OWNED RESTAURANTS, PUBS & SHOPS The Greater Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky area is well known for its great restaurant scene, and MainStrasse Village is home to a number of its popular epicurean delights. Some of our favorite MainStrasse restaurants include Otto’s, Mama’s, Cedar, Frida 602, Bouquet, Lisse, Cock & Bull, Kealoha’s, Gyro’s on Main, and Nagomi. We also have an unbelievably delicious Japanese bakery & restaurant just across the street called Chako that we highly recommend, two great pizza restaurants - Goodfella’s and Mac’s, and for the area’s best burgers and wings, we always head to Zola’s Pub. For groceries, wines and fresh baked breads, check out Dee Felice Market, a small boutique grocery just across the street and a few buildings down at 527 Main Street. 🧺 LAUNDRY AREA - WASHER/DRYER USE Our complimentary laundry area is available for our Airbnb guests to use and is located on the first floor, just as you enter the building. To the right of the stairway is a closet that houses a stack washer & dryer. It is available for use from 7 am - 11 pm on a first-come basis and is a shared amenity for our second and third floor rental units. We provide complimentary laundry detergent, fabric softener, etc. All we ask is that you keep the area clean and tidy, that you clean the dryer lint trap before and after use, and that you retrieve your cleaned laundry in a timely manor as a courtesy to our other guests. FREE PARKING IN OUR PRIVATER PARKING LOT We offer one free parking space for our airbnb guests in our 11-car private parking lot that is located directly behind our building - just a few feet from the entrance to your Airbnb. You will need to let us know the make, model and color of each vehicle in your group upon arrival as our parking lot is closely monitored and serviced by a local towing company. Additional parking space is available on a case-by-case basis and needs to be authorized in advance of arrival. STREET NOISE - MAINSTRASSE’S NIGHTLIFE MainStrasse Village is known for its popular nightlife with more than 30 restaurants, taverns and pubs in close proximity to each other. Many offer outdoor seating and outdoor music. On some weekends and occasional weekday evenings during the summer, the sidewalks can become quite busy with patrons. To insure that our guests have a restful nights sleep, white noise machines and ear plugs are provided for light sleepers. 🛍 SHOPPING AT OUR STORE - AIRBNB GUEST DISCOUNTS You are also of course, welcome to explore and shop at our consignment shop located on the first floor during our normal business hours. Joe and I opened our shop in 2005 and it has grown to become one of Greater Cincinnati's oldest and most respected resale shops. Specializing in today's fashions for men & women as well as designer, couture and vintage apparel, we also carry shoes and accessories, jewelry, artwork, collectibles, gift items, home decor and much more. As an added bonus, our Airbnb guests receive a 10% discount off their entire purchase at our store during their stay, including on all clearance priced items that have already been discounted 25 to 50% off our already low consignment prices. Our large selection of seasonal clothing consignments constantly changes and includes sizes from Extra Small to 3X.
