Our get-away-from-it-all upstate home rests in a picturesque valley alongside the perfect stream. Surrounded by hundreds of acres of conservation land and farm fields, near Queechy Lake, Tanglewood, farm stands and orchards, and all of the natural and cultural pleasures of the Berkshires and Hudson Valley. There's a feeling of simple well-being here - tapping into it has become an essential part of our life. It is a joy to spread out, relax and play at our well-maintained 6 acre park-like property. Ours is an ideal place for families with children to romp about, as well as being a wonderfully serene setting in which to enjoy cooking and savoring a bottle of wine on one of the porches. There are games, toys and DVDs plus Roku for indoor entertainment, or take out the croquet or bocce set! The kitchen is well stocked with high quality equipment - down to an ice shaver for making snow cones and a coffee grinder for your beans. You can also keep up with your piano practice! The sights and sounds of many native birds and a year-round calendar of cultural and outdoor activities throughout the surrounding area make this a special retreat. Guests' stay at the property is independent. Interaction is primarily via email/phone. This is one of the most lovely corners of the world - full of natural beauty, outdoor activities, history and cultural life. A car is necessary to access and explore the area. During the school year we are here almost every weekend - but we are enthusiastic about sharing our home with other responsible families for the occasional weekend or week while we are elsewhere and during summer while we are away! It’s ideal for up to 4 adults plus kids. When renting, we will not be on-site, so we hope that communications in advance with potential guests will help ensure a great experience all around!
