What it lacks in utilities is more than made up for with lashings of compensatory comforts (and views). Proudly perched on top of a hill with panoramic views of the Moray Firth you will not find a better spot to explore the treasures of the Banffshire Coast. Quintessential fishing villages, miles of beaches and all within a stones throw away. The space Cooking Facilities The wood burning stove has great capacity not only to keep you toasty, but also to help you cook. The hot plate is easy to manage and our well equipped cupboards provide all you need to prepare your meals comfortably. If you're in a hurry to head off for the day, or just don't feel like lighting the fire, we have a single ring gas stove so you can make a quick breakfast or cup of tea and be on your way. Shower and Toilet For a small space, you will be surprised at the large shower room inside the Carriage. An authentic bush shower filled with water from either the stove or the gas ring, will help you discover ow the pace of life can be slowed down and appreciated. Pull over the shower curtain to protect your modesty or leave it be and enjoy the view! Our composting loo is cleverly hidden in the centre of a cable reel. It provides everything you need to make your visit her user friendly, and whilst it is al fresco, there can be something quite refreshing about stepping a few yards outside in the chill of the morning to gear you up for the day. There is a sweet vintage night potty for particularly wild nights! Water and Electricity The tap water is from our very own spring, perfect for cooking with, but you may prefer to bring your own water to drink. As you’re in your own private field, there is no electricity. Going without telly, WiFi and a mobile is one thing, but we believe going completely off grid as well adds a certain joyful thrill of disconnectedness to your holiday. (Don’t worry, if the lack of WiFi really is too much for you, we will happily charge your phone for you!) There is a selection of lanterns and candles for lighting, and although there’s no fridge, we provide a cool box and fresh ice packs every day. Entertainment We never tire of the fabulous view, dolphin spotting and on a clear day, counting the Sutherland hills at the other side of the water. If however you fancy a different kind of entertainment, we supply a basket full of board games, dominoes, playing cards and magazines.
