Our little spot is right on the mighty Mississippi river, a beautiful spot to relax, fish, bird watch including eagles! We feature a large deck facing the water to enjoy morning coffee or an evening cocktail to watch sunsets. When you’re ready to settle in for the evening, we have ready-to-cook kitchen, grill, WiFi, Amazon Prime and Netflix, fireplace and comfy seating. So just relax! So we want to help you create the family and friend moments we have enjoyed for generations. Our kitchen has everything you need (if you want to cook that is). We also provide coffee, chilled waters, popcorn, basic spices. During this time of CODIV-19, we are undertaking additional sanitation efforts to protect our guests. Cassville offers a wonderful river front park, Stonefield Museum, Nelson Dewey state park with amazing bluff views of the river valley, tours of the Nelson Dewey home. The car ferry is so fun to cross the river into Iowa. There you can visit a local winery and a little further down Gutenberg and see the closest dam. 40 minutes from Prairie du Chein; 45 from Dubuque. LANCASTER is about 20 minutes and Platteville about 30 minutes. Cassville is a small town so easy walking, biking or driving around. A few great resources are: Cassville.org Grantcounty.org Cassville tourism and many of the local restaurants have Facebook pages including the Anker Inn and Son Chasers. These will get you in the know on fun activities that may be going on during your visit. Also check out Nelson Dewey State Park and Stonefield. We have a lot of local info and maps at the cabin as well to assist once you arrive. All year round this is a Beautiful part of the state for vast panoramic views. In winter, without the leaves you see things you just don’t see in the other times of the year. Nelson’s Dewey state park has the most amazing views of the whole valley. Also note that because this is a vacation home and often unoccupied, we have blink security cameras in the carport. They are disabled during guests stays. This is only to protect the property when the property is not occupied.
