Being right on the Savannah River, there is no other place to be in Downtown Augusta. If you do want to explore the area, you are right in the heart of the Downtown with various activities always happening, be it the restaurant and bar scene, local art museums, the weekly farmers market(seasonal), multiple opportunities to exercise. There is always something going on. Guest access The entire inside of the boat is available for use along with the lower tier of the rooftop. The upper tier of the roof that is over the living room is strictly prohibited to use. The propane grill that sits directly behind the boat is also available to be used. We ask that you double check that the gas is turned off after each use. Other things to note GLAMPING - The only difference between the houseboat and a camper is the ground beneath or lack thereof. SAVANNAH RIVER - Many different species of wildlife call this home and will make a presence when the time is right. The exterior perimeter is sprayed one hour before guest check-in to lessen the chance of any insects from entering the boat. Keeping the windows and doors closed will also help tremendously. It is strongly encouraged NOT TO SWIM IN THE RIVER AND IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED TO JUMP OFF THE BOAT INTO THE WATER. You will not be able to see clearly much father than 5ft in front of you when underwater. There are objects and wildlife on the bottom of the river, floating on top of the river and suspended everywhere else in between. Certain types of debris and/or certain types of species of animals that call the Savannah River home, can and will cause severe injury to you or your guests, that could result in serious injury or death if any in which enter the water. FISHING - Personally, Walmart is my go-to “everything you’ll ever need or want” fishing solution and is less than 10 minutes away. In its fishing department you will also find that live bait can be purchased. From personal experience, the earlier you’re able to get there, the better selection of live bait you’ll have to choose from. Fishing is ONLY allowed off the boat itself, not the dock. Visit Georgia’s Department of Natural Resources website to purchase a fishing license and to read all rules and regulations before casting your line. GOOD LUCK and send pictures of your fish! MARINE TOILET - Georgia's Department of Natural Resources has a zero-tolerance policy regarding waste entering the river. The marine toilet onboard is nearly identical to the one used at your home, except is controlled by push bottom rather than a flush lever. The bathroom is stocked with marine grade toilet paper which is the only thing besides waste that should be flushed. Guests will be financially responsible for all parts and labor that are associated with the repair or replacement of the waste management system if it’s found that prohibited items were flushed. Cost can range from $500-$3,000. ICE Complimentary ice is provided in the gift shop (during normal business hours) for the duration of your stay.
