Located just outside of Bancroft, along the beautiful York River. The York River is part of the Madawaska Waterway, connecting multiple chain lakes, and the famous Conroy Marsh! Holding Walleye, Bass and Pike makes this a fisherman's dream! With its many areas of calm waters, mixed with rapids makes it a kayaking/canoeing paradise! Swim the river or enjoy the beautiful beach at Fosters lake. ATV trails open to the public. 1300FT WATERFRONT, 12.5 ACRES to explore! The space With much to offer, our NEWLY RENOVATED cottage is tastefully furnished giving it a home away from home feel. NEW FEATURES include: All new windows/doors and exterior siding. Main level interior finished with T&G pine, luxury plank flooring, new window coverings and our personal favourite, a spectacular propane fireplace finished with rustic stone and hand hewn barn beam mantle. Fresh paint throughout. The cottage interior is spacious, with open concept living area located on the main floor. The living area offers comfortable seating, perfect for lounging around the rustic stone fireplace. Cozy up and surround the warmth of the fire as you enjoy watching a movie on the 50” flatscreen TV. (DVD player included with small selection of movies. HDMI and USB ports on TV, standard HDMI cable included) NEW - Starlink high speed internet and wifi now available with wifi calling capabilities right from the comfort of our cottage. NEW - Roku device included. Stream your favourite shows and movies, just log in to your Netflix, Prime etc. account relax and unwind. Main floor also includes a bathroom with shower, full kitchen and dining area; fridge, stove/oven, microwave, coffee maker, Keurig, other basic appliances, as well as all of the cookware/utensils/dishware you need to prepare and enjoy your meals. Upstairs you will find, 2 very spacious bedrooms. Each bedroom includes 2 beds, each fresh with mattress protectors and comfy pillows, ready to be made with your linens. As for outside, well it's anything you could hope for in a country setting. The view of the river is surely a peaceful sight to see, and our surrounding acres invite you to get in touch with the true beauty of what nature has to offer. From the sounds of various birds, to the possible sightings of our local wildlife which include, whitetail deer, elk, turkeys and generally on the property you may see our free range chickens, quails and rabbits, we encourage you to explore. Walk our 1300 ft of shoreline. Take your morning coffee, stop for a fish, or adventure through the woods. Just don't forget your camera. To top it all off, we welcome you to cozy up around a campfire. Stone fire pit with Adirondack chairs, picnic table and welcoming bundle of wood included. Be sure to check out the stars at night, there are no words to describe the view other than breathtaking. Guest access Our property is shared by all guests, yet still private per individual space. The property provides easy access to the river and is suitable for 12ft aluminum boats or smaller. (Motorized boats are not provided but we welcome you to bring your own) We do however have available and offer the use of 3 kayaks, 5 canoes, 2 youth kayaks and 2 paddleboards (all paddles included) to peacefully explore the river. We've also added a 6'x15' Floating Water Mat for more fun on the river, and a dock! For your safety, we do recommend that you bring life jackets that are properly fitted to you and your family/friends. We do have a wide variety of life jackets on site in the wooden shed located in the front yard if anyone needs. Other local boat launches include access at Fosters Lake (Beach lake, 15 Hp restriction), Fraser Lake, Trails End Rd (York River) and Burnt Bridge Rd launch to explore the Conroy Marsh (York River). We encourage you to also check out the beach on Fosters Lake, only a few minute drive North. We find it truly incredible that our area has such a gem to offer; free of charge, open to the public and very well maintained. It's view, comfortably swimmable waters with shallow sandy approach, nice play structure and picnic areas make this an outstanding attraction for family fun. From the cottage, you are only an estimated 40 minute drive away from Algonquin Park and all that it has to offer. Other things to note **YES, We do have running water, however it is unfit for drinking. - NON-POTABLE WATER** **PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN LINENS - BEDDING & TOWELS NOT INCLUDED** (We do not include bed sheets, pillow cases, comforters/blankets or towels.) **However, we DO INCLUDE some other basics such as; Toilet paper, Shampoo and Conditioner, Pillows (pillow cases not included) Salt & Pepper, Dish soap, Hand soap, Kitchen cloths, couple garbage bags, mop, broom and cleaning supplies. We also include one bundle of wood for a cozy campfire. BBQ with side burner supplied with propane is available for your outdoor cooking convenience. Extra bundles of wood can be purchased at time of booking for $9 per bundle, cleaners will ensure they are at your cabin upon arrival. PETS: We do kindly ask that all animals are to be kept on leashes at all times when outside and remain off all furniture. WINTER: For the winter months, the driveway will be kept clear.
