Spacious hillside ski chalet, view of SF and Bay
Description
Vaulted ceilings, wood paneling make this 800 sq ft studio feel like a ski chalet, but with a west wall of sliding glass doors that showcase San Francisco and the Bay. One mile north of campus, one block from the Rose Garden, five blocks from Gourmet Ghetto, about a 25 min walk to BART, 1 block to bus 65 & 67 stops, 5 blocks to grocery store, dedicated parking space in a driveway; best of both North Berkeley worlds (view + access to cafes/restaurants). The space Like so many things in Berkeley, this space is one-of-a-kind. Great location, rustic interiors, great natural light, panoramic views of downtown SF, partial view of the Bay, often breathtaking sunsets. Guest access 25 min walk to BART, 1 block to bus 65 & 67 stops, 5 blocks to grocery store, dedicated parking space in a driveway. Other things to note You're in the in-law unit of our house with a separate gate and entrance; you share the large back yard and patio with us; we have two young children who can be a little noisy. As with all Berkeley homes built in the 20th century, this does not have centralized air conditioning, but there are two standing fans including a large overhead one that can circulate from openings on the west and east walls. We have Tesla solar panels and power walls; Tesla has promised us that in the event of an unexpected blackout of PG&E-power, you won't even notice a power interruption. Pillow top available for the queen size sofa bed to add a layer of soft padding. You do need to climb about 15 stairs to get to the yard and unit. Our black cat could be roaming in the backyard. Two lightweight chairs convert to full size beds. Checkout list: clean the dishes you used, do not leave food or stuff behind, turn off heater, lock the studio.
