The Frame Guesthouse is three storey heritage shophouse in Georgetown, Penang which previously houses a frame maker shop. The guesthouse which is located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, near to most of the famous tourist attraction. It is a best accommodation for traveler who looking for unique and unforgettable stay at affordable price. The space The Frame Guesthouse is artfully converted from two block of pre-war shophouse which previously houses a frame maker shop. It is especially important as an example of a very early shop house prototype. From the original mosaic-tiled flooring, intricate artwork, inner courtyard and to wooden shuttered windows, every aspect echoes the history of the region. Based on the belief in authenticity, functionality and material that age beautifully, we chose to restore the highly necessary in the guesthouse and hence preserve the rest. Existing concrete floor, walls and surfaces were kept with minimal treatment. Much of this space was left as it was found before the renovation with rough, peeling walls and the traces of a removed electrical appliances were left exposed on the wall surface. The place provides a relaxing atmosphere for vacations and social gatherings. There have plenty of common area including two inner courtyard and one backyards for you to relax and enjoy tea break. Guest access The ground floor is a spacious lounge area with central courtyards which sunlight is come into where guest can watch movie, surf internet, drive into book or enjoy tea break here.
